One picture, a thousand stories-Wk8"
Hello friends welcome to my blog.

This is a picture of nature I took when I visited my village. I love it so much. It gives me memories of how cool, calm and natural the environment was when I visited. It was not the usual festive season or occasions time when lots of people come back home and everywhere is filled up.
I decided to travel to go see my dad because I heard he was coming back to the village to just come and relax and rest. As my Father will always say, In Igbo land, it is normal that once in a while, if you are elderly and don't reside in the village, you have to come back to the village to see and know how things are.
Also, have not seen him for a while since we reside in different cities, so I took that opportunity to go and see him. It was an odd time for me to travel to the village, everywhere was so calm.
In the mornings people go to the farm, school children are off to school, and a few people who cannot go to the farm stay back at home. We had visitors, but not lots of them like the festive period; they came to see my dad and discussed the happenings in the village, which he enjoys so much. In the evenings, meetings were held in my house to settle disputes and talk about ways forward for some issues.
However, enjoyed my stay, although it was not a long one. The serenity of the environment was so helpful to relax; it will make you feel you are in another world, with no continuous vehicle noise like in the city and no noise from people's activities. All you hear is the natural sounds from birds, trees, and the cool breeze, and the green vegetation in the village is so healthy, unlike in the city.
I took the picture myself as I took a walk around the calm village. Since I have my phone with me, I take lots of beautiful pictures, so I can also have the memories stored in my phone to share with friends.
It also reminds me of the story that was told that people in the village live and eat healthier than those in the city who feed mostly on processed food. Just like our forefathers who lived longer than the people of the present age. They enjoyed a healthier environment which is not polluted, no louder noise from factories, airports and heavy vehicles.
There is not much difference when people say they travel to another country for vacation. The village can serve the same purpose if you really want to travel for a rest unless you want to engage in other fun activities which you can also create Yourself in the village like going swimming. But when it's for relaxation purposes, it is best to travel during the non-festive season so you don't get disturbed by guests.
This picture recalls the memory of that peaceful and enjoyable visit I made to the village; just like my father would say, the aged need to travel down to the village once in a while to rest. I think the visit should be for everyone, not just the aged. To at least travel to a different, serene environment and take a break from the city's daily activities for your mental health and general well-being.
