Bilinchinsi wanted to hear what was on his mind. He asked the people to help him speak. They gave him water and his voice came. He said smoothly, “Brother, what I’m to tell you, is kind of heavy. I know you would be angry and I wouldn’t stop you from doing anything to me.” Bilinchinsi was eager to hear what he had to say. Bilinchinsi said, “Why to call me brother? Say whatever you have to say. I have to get to someone special.” “You are my brother. Due to our greediness, we had to kill our father. We left our mother to die with you. She was in labor when we left her to die. I recognize the necklace because it was our father’s. I never thought she gave birth. Until today when you came in to rescue me. My father told us, one day His blood will come back to save the people. He was such a great man we had to kill out of ignorance.” Zahm said shamefully. Zahm left Bilinchinsi speechless. He was confused about who his parents were. He left in surprise.

Bilinchinsi hurried to their spot to find Zuara in tears. He called out to her. She runs and embraced him and said “I thought I lost you to the villagers.” Bilinchinsi replied, “You know I can never do that. You mean the whole world to me” Bilinchinsi told Zuara what he discovered in Yagbe. Zuara said they should hide it from their parents. But Bilinchinsi being furious, said he should know his identity and know where he is coming from.

Bilinchinsi and Zuara went home with questions. They entered their home and they knew their parents have heard the news about what happened in Yagbe. Bilinchinsi said “I’m sorry I had to do what I did today. I didn’t mean to endanger your child in my foolish adventure. But I seek the truth today. Speak out, or I leave without a word and you never find me.” Azabila speaks “It wasn’t my intention of you finding out this way. It was your mother’s wish and I had to abide by it. After all, she owns you more than me. I only did her a favor of raising you. That doesn’t make you mine.”

Azabila and Bilinchinsi argued for a long. Zuara and her mother were speechless. Bilinchinsi told them (Zuara and her parents) “I’m going back to my home. I thought this was my home. I’m grateful for you raising me to be this. At least I had a father, a mother, and a sister who cared more than my brothers did. Zuara I will come for you. But I don’t know if you will follow me as my sister or something more than that.” Zuara smiled and said “Whatever you would be talking to me as I would be pleased. Just make sure you come back for me.” Bilinchinsi hugged her and left.

Bilinchinsi went to his father’s land. The villagers were pleased he was back. They wanted to kill their cruel king. Bilinchinsi then spoke with wisdom “If you kill him, what will be your difference. Show him you have mercy. Let him live to see how the land he couldn’t handle well be great again.” the villagers wanted Bilinchinsi as a king. He had the royal blood it was left with his acceptance. He wanted to be king but he couldn’t bear their law about not accepting strangers into the land. He questioned the gods saying, “Me being a king is conditioned on how I can break the law. If not, then you have to find your king.”

The gods remained silent for months and finally spoke. The priest speaks “My son, the gods have spoken. From them, the law was passed by your grandfather. He had his reasons. The gods said, he fell in love with a stranger of different land and the people of the land disregarded him. With such anger, he called to the gods. The gods helped him with the law.” Bilinchinsi said, “Priest I’m not interested in how the law came by but how we can take it off the land.” “My son, the law can only be broken, when the king of this land marries a woman from a different clan in a different land. You have to swear it to the gods if not she can’t get through to the land.”

Bilinchinsi became king and made a promise to the gods of bringing a woman named Zuara. He had a feeling Zuara will marry him even though they behaved as twins for more than 20 years. They set a date for going for his wife as a king. The day came, everyone including his brother went to where he grew up. They were surprised upon their arrival. They started murmuring “What I’m I seeing? Bilinchinsi is king now. Ai, how is he even related to that land?” Bilinchinsi went to greet the king of the land. They had a conversation since they were friends. He then moved to the hut he grew in. They welcomed him inside. Zuara was present and she was wondering why all these people came. Bilinchinsi then speaks “Baba, I’m here today to thank you for raising me. Letting me grow to be this strong to save my people. But today, I came to bring honor to you and your family. I know it would sound mad but I want to say it after all. I’m here for Zuara. Not as my sister, but as my wife. I have been in love with her since we were kids. I want to make her mine.” Azabila and Adisa smiled and asked Zuara, “Will you marry him?” Zuara not wasting time said with a wide smile “Yes, I will. I want to spend the rest of my life with him” Azabila said, “Then, so be it.”

They took Zuara as the queen mother of their land and invited the king and Zuara’s parents to witness their marriage. Zuara and Bilinchinsi got married in their village. It brought smiles to the faces of the villagers. Finally, the cruel law was nullified. Everyone was happy. Zahm made peace with his brother and had a seat among the elders of the land.
Azabila and Adisa benefited from both Zuara and their in-law. They were respected in their village now. They realized how good Azabila was. He made the history of giving birth to a savior and raising one too.

Bilinchinsi on Zuara, “I have dreamt so much of this day. The day you would be mine. I loved you since we were kids. I prayed to the gods for this day. I’m grateful they granted my wishes.” Zuara smiled asking him “In a day, how many things do you wish we weren’t related?” Bilinchinsi said “hmmm, twice. That’s when I wake up and when I’m about sleeping.” Zuara then said “For me, every minute in my life I made a wish. Which was the same every time. That wish was... I wish you weren’t my brother. This kind of love I have for you can’t be explained. I thank the gods for granting them. If not, I wouldn’t know what I would have become because of the love I have for you.”

Bilinchinsi and Zuara ruled well. Bilinchinsi had his title back. Bilinchinsi, the savior! The riches of the land were used as his father did. He made sure no one suffered. He donated some to nearby villagers. The land of Azabila had the most. Azabila no longer goes hunting because he had whatever he needed. The people of the two lands lived well to date.
This is how Bilinchinsi found his identity and saved his people from cruel rule and shame. Let’s note, no matter where we think we are going, a home will always be home. If you can’t accept your home, then no place on earth can contain you. Learn to love home. When you do, you value those you have there.

Everybody, let’s say “Bilinchinsi, The Savior”

The end!
