One Picture And One Story Week 83
A Successful Meeting
On the 6th day of April 2025, I attended a meeting for Young Catholic Students and it was a Diocesan meeting. The hosting parish isn't far from my Parish that's why I decided to attend the meeting, though I was procrastinating to attend the meeting because I wasn't feeling like going to that place because I know I will be very busy that day.
My fellow Parishioners who are members of this association were even procrastinating to attend the meeting too, I wonder why they have refused to be serious with the association affair. Among all the Catholic churches in the state I reside in, my church used to be the best, we were so active and we were doing very well, shining like stars.
All of a sudden the association was broken down and I wasn't happy about this, I have always tried my best to motivate the executives to grow the association again but they weren't serious, it was very difficult to convince them all. This meeting came up and I saw it as a big opportunity to lay complaints to the Diocesan executives.
I arrived at the church where the meeting was taking place and I was surprised to see poor turnout of members in the church building. This is a diocesan meeting where more than 100 people are supposed to be in attendance but it was less than 35 people that attended the meeting. Just look the number of people that are in this picture, it wasn't everyone that joined this photograph but we were all less than 35 in number.
I came across a Reverend Father that has celebrated mass for some years in my parish and I surprised when he said I look familiar, I told him yes we have met before in my parish and he confirmed his suspicion. He was addressing us in the meeting and he later left. Alot of matters were talked about in the meeting and I wasn't in the mood to talk much but I laid my complaints to the president after the meeting while we were on our way home and he offered to help me.
We ate rice there and two plates was shared to everyone because the hosting parish made arrangements for many people but it was just less than 35 people that attended the meeting. I ate one plate of rice and drank one of the drinks that was given to me. The second plate of rice and drink was what I took home. We took a group picture before going home. In the diary game post I will make soon about that day, I will talk more.
Greetings, friend @saintkelvin17. It's a pleasure to receive your invitation to participate in the "One Image and One Story" contest, which I'm currently preparing for.
I wish you much success in all your endeavors.

Hey @saintkelvin17,
It’s sad to see once-active groups lose their energy, but I really respect your decision to still attend the meeting. Sometimes small steps like this can bring big change. Sharing your concerns with the president was wise and hopefully this will help revive the spirit of your parish's youth group again.
