◉ Tell us about your city ? What makes it special?

The name of my City is Onitsha, a beautiful City located in Anambra State Nigeria. It is known for its Commercial Center. This City has various markets for various things. Some of the market in Onitsha includes the following.

• Onitsha Mai market
  This Market is regarded as the largest Market in West Africa. It is said that anything you can't find in these market, you can't find it anywhere in Nigeria. This is to show how busy and bubbling the Market is.

• Ochanja Market
  This is also another market seen in Onitsha. Shoes and Bags are the major Commodity sold here. This Market is usually busy with people from different walks of life coming there to shop.

• Building Materials International Market
  This is yet another market known for selling all building Materials, ranging from Tiles, Doors, Pipes etc.

• Relief Market
  This is another populated market in the City of Onitsha, where Foodstuffs of various form are sold.

Some of the Local food in my City includes the following

• Abacha(Tapioca)
  This is a unique meal made with Cassava, Palm oil, Fish, Locust beans and other Ingredients. This meal is usually prepared during festive season in my City.

• Ukwa(Breadfruit)
  This is another delicious delicacy, in my City. It is usually prepared with Breadfruit, Potash and salt.

Local Tradition

Some of the Local Traditions celebrated in my City includes the following.

• The New Yam Festival
  This is a season usually around August September whereby the Indigene celebrate and thank God for a fruitful harvest.

• Ofala Festival
  This is a unique festival performed annually especially during the month of October. It is a Festival in which the Office of the King is renewed.

If someone visits your city, what 3 places must they see?

The three places you must visit if you happens to be in the City of Onitsha includes the following.

• Ogbunike Cave
  You can't visit Onitsha without going to Ogbunike Cave. This Cave is situated in a Valley around St Monica College Ogbunike. The Cave is a massive structure with one Central Aisle. Inside the Cave has different Tunnels leading to different directions. There is also a River at the Cave. The Cave is so big that you can't go without the assistance of Guard. You will get lost inside the Cave if you go there alone.

• River Niger

  You can't come to my City without visiting River Niger, a very big river with several Kilometer long and flowing into several Countries like Guinea, Mali etc. The River generates lots of income for my City through fishing and Transportation. It is also a Tourist Center for Boat ride.

• The Obi of Onitsha Palace
  This is another beautiful place to visit in Onitsha. The king in Onitsha is regarded as the "Obi" his palace has lots of Historical Cultural Artifacts.
