Days are getting pretty busy. It feels like April went by too fast. We haven't fully recovered from the festive mood of Eid yet, and now we have to prepare for exams and everything else!

Hi, I'm Rem from Bangladesh. Today, I'm going to share some of my picks from the week. Let's go.

April 14th was the first day of the Bangla Calendar. And we celebrate this day with a lot of fun and enjoyment. The day has cultural significance, and it's a day of a colorful festival for us.

We went to the mall last Friday for some shopping. I had to buy a regular wear Burka. Also, I had to buy toiletry items like shampoo and soap, etc.

This mall is called Shimanto Shombhar. I like to go there because there are a few shops that I know are very budget-friendly. But overall, the mall is a little expensive.

Weekend means special food. My son loves roasted chicken curry with Polao. So it became kind of our weekend food.

I cooked roasted chicken curry, Polao, Chickpea dal curry, and eggplant fry with some tomato salad on the side. I kept the meal simple, but the dishes were delicious as my family members complimented me. It filled my heart.

My son had to submit a project at school on The five pillars of Islam.

I helped him do the crafting, and he wrote the names and every other detail. Hopefully, this will help him remember our foundation of faith better.

My son also has a one-dish party at school. The party usually takes place after every Eid.

This time, I made a soft, spongy cake with Tutty Fruity to give him for school so he could share this with his friends & teachers.

I was a bit nervous whether this cake would be good or not. But fortunately, it came out perfect. I will share the recipe soon.

Then the day came, Pohela Boishakh - the first day of the Bangla Calendar.

We went to the Dhanmondi Lake to watch some cultural programs. But to be honest, the crowd was so thick that we decided to sit outside and enjoy some moments there. Then we moved on to the other side of the park and had some time there while listening to the music of the concert.

This was the pick of my week!

I wore a saree on 14th April to celebrate Pohela Boishakh. We traditionally wear red and white share, and I wore share after many, many months.

And while walking on the streets of Dhanmondi, I found this house whose front gate was full of different colorful flowers. What an amazing view. People were taking photos and selfies in front of the gate.

We had some light snacks at Dhanmondi as well. The Doi Fushca was too good, and the sub was not bad as well. The price was 120 taka and 160 taka, respectively. That is about 6.5 Steem and 8.50 Steem approximately.

So, that's about the week. It was busy, chaotic, but at the same time, we had a lot of fun and food. Blessed to have such a nice family week.
