Computer Science Department University of Okara

Hello everyone!

Let's visit the Computer Science Department of University of Okara. There is a separate building of the computer science department in the university of Okara. It is situated on the west side near the DOMs Cafe.

External View

This is the external view of the department. It was built a few years ago. It is not white washed from its external view. The external structure is only a brown structure coated with cement plaster. The whole building of the department is in the square-like shape. The entrance gate is made up of metal and it is a compressible door. It works like a protection grill for the glass doors. On the sides of the entrance there are flowering plants in the vases. On the top of the entrance there is the use of the metallic fonts to represent the department name.

Interior and Offices

This is the interior of the department. As soon as we enter we see this. This is the central part. On the sides there are rooms. On the left and right side there are the offices of the administration team of the department. On the left side there is the office of the chairperson. The chairperson also serves as the head of the department of computer science. In front of the chairperson office there is the office of the head of the department of software engineering and data science HOD also sits there.

Clerk Office

This is the clerk office of the department. In this there are two clerks one is a female and the other is a male. They manage different tasks. They manage the attendance and other records. They also help the students in different matters by providing awareness. If students want to get a fee voucher then they can visit this office. We can get our student registration cards from this office. If we need signatures of the chairperson and HODs we can submit our documents here and they will get a sign on the documents and then we can receive them later. To manage all these works they have an office boy.

Faculty Washrooms

Near the offices on both sides of the building there are faculty Washrooms. They are special for the faculty. Sometimes students are also seen in these washrooms but the administration team restricts the students to use these washrooms.

Male and Female Washrooms for Students

As we move towards the classes there are washrooms for the students. Student washrooms are available at two places one at the most right side and one at the most left side. They are made for the ease of the students so that each block's student can easily use their side's washrooms instead of going to the other block.

There are separate washrooms both for the male and female. In each section male and female washrooms are opposite to each other. On the entrance doors of the female washrooms an insulting sheet has been installed. All the washrooms have thick glass doors.

Washing Basins

In each washroom section there are some washing basins. We can use them to wash our face and hands. The washing basins are installed on the wide area and there is the space to keep things. You can see I placed my bag on the side and used the basin. Whenever I reach university first of all I visit washing basins to wash my face to remove the dust and do combing and then go to the classroom in a fresh look.

Computer Labs

Here you can see the computer lab of the department. There are 4 labs in the department. All the labs have computers. These are used to perform the practical activities.

Similarly there are other classrooms which do not have computers but the remaining things are the same. All the rooms have rotatable and comfortable chairs. The height of the chairs can also be adjusted. There are neat and clean tables to keep bags and other things. Each classroom has a projector and a whiteboard which helps in taking the lecture easily and in the modern style.

Women Development Center

This is the women development center hall. Firstly the name of this room was common room which was used by the female students to take rest and make students were not allowed. Now on the motto of chief minister it has turned to s women development center. Now here different daily life things are taught to the female students. Their mental and personal growth is carried out here to make them strong and cope with the society. Different seminars occur which talk about the strength and development of women.

Water Cooler

There are two water coolers in the department. These are the electric coolers with the filtration technology. They turned on all the time so that the students can drink cool water in the summer season. Each water cooler has two taps. We use water bottles to get water and then we take the water in the classroom to wipe out the untime thirst.

Electric Circuit and Fire Extinguisher 🧯

There are different small electric circuits controls on the building. They are specific to control the electricity at the lower level. Each block has its own electricity control circuit. To cope with the emergency situation of fire because of short circuits there is a fire extinguisher to control the fire.

Main Electric Supply and Control of Department

This is the electricity source which receives electricity from the external sources and then provides electricity to the whole department. Each small circuit at the lower level is connected with this main supply. We can turn on and off the electricity of the whole department from here. It is dangerous to deal with it without professional training.

Exit Door

There are a number of small doors at the front and back side along with the main entrance. This is the exit door on the front side. It remains closed all the time and the students only use the main entrance door. This opens in the emergency situation only and the students can use it to exit the department.

Park on both sides

On the outside of the department there is park on both the sides. It has plants and trees on the sides. It has soft grass and the students can enjoy sitting in the park. You can see in the picture the greenery and beauty of the park. When there is the off time and university buses arrive to pick the students then students wait here while enjoying the beauty of nature.
