In a little village called bama, borno state Nigeria. There was a poor intelligent and smart girl named Aisha that has inherited hard work from her parents. Her parents have been working hard all their life to put food on the table for family survival. Mr jaruba Mohammed the father of a single daughter (Aisha) is a farmer that hustles all season either raining or dry he is always at the farm just to fulfill the promise he made that is daughter is not going to be an illiterate like him.

While Aisha mother Mrs Fatima Mohammed is a good fashion designer that is known by few people in the community and the little income is not enough for her not to talk about the entire family. But despite their suffering and struggle they have successfully raised their daughter to be honest, kind and respectful. God also blesses her with wisdom, knowledge and understanding at her tender age.

From a very young age Aisha, was intelligent and eager to learn and breakthrough the poverty that has been passed from generations while other students call school a scam she embraces her studies and stays focused because she knows that is her only hope to live the good life she always wants for her family.

Her intelligence was not well noticed by the teachers only few students knew about her. Not until the school organized a mathematics competition and three finalists will represent the school internationally which whoever wins will be given a scholarship to study abroad, car, house and $1000 Aisha was nominated among the best 15 students to participate in the competition within the school.

Aisha now sees this as a big opportunity to change her life, they were given two weeks to prepare before the competition started. The only time she has to read and solve questions is in the night because after school she has to help either of her parents at their work, most of the time there is no power supply So she will use her lamp or her father's phone flash light to study from 8pm to 2am everyday for two weeks. She works with time and makes consistency her top priority to come out with flying colors in the mathematics competition.

So it is Monday which is the competition day other participants was in school before 7:30am only Aisha has not yet appear in the hall because she have to finish all her house chores before going to school until the competition remain 10 minutes to start then she walk into the hall quickly all audience eyes was on the latecomer (Aisha).

She located her seat number (no 9) and settled down. At exactly the time the quiz master walked into the hall, he gave instructions and also said the competition is going to be two rounds and each student has to answer 3 questions correctly to proceed to the next round. Aisha bowed her head on the table and prayed to God for assistance and then the competition begins.

After the first round 10 students got eliminated remaining 5 more student remaining among the five is Aisha that became the second position. Then the second round will filter out the two students that won't be eligible to represent the school internationally. After the second round Aisha became the first and the only female among the best three to represent the school Aisha was very happy to be among the best.

After the announcement of the results they have only a week to prepare for the final competition, this time Aisha has to beg her parents that she won't be able to help them at work until after the competition so that she can stay fully focused on her study which her parents agreed on and wish her best of luck. This time she have to start studying immediately she comes back from school which the hours of study increases then when she was studying for the school competition.

The day of the competition finally came on that morning she woke up very early so that she won't miss the car that will take them to the competition center. On her arrival to school she was the first competitor to arrive few minutes later another competitor showed up saying the thrift person won't be going because he is seriously ill. So Aisha, her college and one of the school mathematics teachers entered the vehicle and left the school.

Getting to the competition center other students from another school were already present, 30 min after their arrival the competition starts every student got their exam questions and answers sheet and then begin to solve it was a tight security exam with non smiling invigilator and the time duration is just an hour.

After the exam everyone came out of the hall saying the exam was not easy, Aisha was smiling and thanking God that what she practiced came out in the exam. Everyone left for home since the results will be out in two days time. When Aisha got home her parents ask her how was the exam and she replied let us hope for the best result.

Two days later the results were announced and Aisha came out first in the competition she was given all the rewards ( scholarship to study abroad, a car, house and the sum of $1000) and all this changes she and parents story.

A Few weeks later her parents moved to the house and started a business with the money, Aisha also got admission to study pharmacy in the Netherlands which she never stops working hard on her study. After 6 years she became the first lady to study pharmacy from her community and also a first class student. Right on her graduation day she got employed in the Netherlands which pays her money that has cancelled poverty in her generation.

This applies to everyone out there who feels ladies shouldn't have a voice. You silent our women and keep them in the dark because you feel they are incapable. I just remembered when women were banned from going to school. They said it's only guys that should while ladies or girls stay at home and do house chores. A little difference is when you're determined.
