Why Do Spiders Stay In The Same Place, Frozen?

in Steem For Lifestyle2 days ago

I have been addicted to Spiderman since I was a child. There are many spiders around our house which I like very much and take care of them. If someone breaks a spider's house around our house, I feel very bad even though it is not right to break it. But sometimes spiders build a nest inside our room and it is unsightly to see, so we chase them away but do not kill them. Today's story is about why spiders are silent.

Spiders hold a special place among the various creatures of nature. As simple as this small creature looks, its lifestyle and survival strategy are incomparable. Spiders often come to our attention hanging on a web, but many times we notice how long they remain completely still in the same place. Why is this so? There are several reasons in nature behind the spider's stillness.

Scientists have done a lot of research on this subject, so according to their interpretation, spiders wait to catch their prey. Spiders usually weave webs to catch their prey. This web is their main way of collecting food. Until the spider catches the prey, it moves little by little and can make a rattling sound in the web. Which creates a warning for the prey. So while catching prey, they sit still so that the prey does not realize their presence. It is not uncommon for them to stay in the same place for an hour or more. Staying still in this way is a main way for them to get food.

Spiders protect themselves by being silent. Being small animals, spiders have many enemies such as birds, large insects or other animals. When these enemies see the movement or movement of the spider, they can easily hunt. Therefore, spiders hide themselves by being silent and silent. Many times, they look like a stone or a dead leaf like an animal without a body, which makes them invisible to enemies. By remaining silent, they are able to save their lives.

Spiders conserve energy. Despite their small size, food sources are not always readily available. They often have to wait for prey to come to their webs, during which time they remain dormant without expending energy. This dormancy is a strategy for conserving energy so that they can survive for long periods of time on an empty stomach. Especially when the environment is not favorable, the spider's dormancy increases their chances of survival. This is mainly because spiders are frozen so we can take clear pictures of them.
