Why are mine addicted to this?
Briefly expatiate on What you understand by addiction.
Addiction is a disease that affects many people in their lifestyles, such as mental, physical, career, and sometimes relationships, impacting various individuals within their community. There are different cases of addiction, such as drug addiction, smoking, frequent internet use, and behavioral addiction, all of which have a negative impact on our health as well as our work life.
Addiction is sometimes difficult to control because it is something that is associated with our mentality. Addiction can also refer to shopping and buying materials that we don't need.
Is there anything you are addicted to? Tell us in detail.
There are two things that I am addicted to: watching movies and using social media, such as Facebook and Twitter, to know what is trending on those platforms. If I don't have a movie to watch on my phone, I struggle to get through the day. I will search for others who have movies on their phones so that they can send them to me. Even if I don't find a movie, I will download one to my phone to satisfy my need. Addiction is something that is not easy to control because we have become accustomed to it.
Another thing I am addicted to is social media; most of the time, I keep checking my Facebook and Twitter to learn about other people's social lives and to know what is currently happening within our community. Sometimes, I find it difficult to sleep because I have become so accustomed to it.
How did you get to the level of getting addicted to that thing.
I became addicted when I bought my first browsing phone. Immediately, I noticed that people were on Facebook, so I registered and began to add my friends who I first met in secondary school and other friends I met on Facebook. We chat occasionally if there are important issues to discuss. Even if I don't want to log in, their notifications will appear on the screen, and I can use such opportunities to view new trends that are going on. I may stay there for a long time which can consume a lot of my productive time.
Watching movies started when we first bought our television, and it gradually increased when I got a phone. Since that day, whenever I find myself with my phone, I use it to watch any movie of my choice.
Do you need help? Do you think the help will stop you from your addiction.
Everyone needs help to overcome this addiction because it is something we can gradually reduce. If I see a qualified psychologist or social worker who has deep knowledge based on what they study, I may seek help from them, and I believe they can help me manage this situation. Their supportive system or methods in solving the problem of addiction will help me because we are in a global era, and it's not that easy to do without using a phone.
Give advice to someone battling with addiction of one thing or the other.
My advice to someone battling addiction is to seek help from healthcare professionals and discuss your condition with them so that treatment can be initiated immediately. Calling your loved ones or chatting with them, and if necessary, walking together, will keep you busy until the urges you have related to your addiction disappear. Distraction is very useful sometimes because it prevents you from acting on your urges.
Seek support from your family and friends, and tell them you are no longer addicted to substance use so that they see you as a responsible person. The dealer supplying you must also know that you are quitting the bad behaviors that prevent a person from becoming successful in life.
