Earrings are among one of the most important jewellery items among women. It has not only been viewed as fashionable but also a symbol of cultural identity, social status and personal identity.

When I was young, earrings and earring holes were the quickest way to tell males from females. In those days, a male with an earring on one ear was an outright sign of rebelliousness. One earring was the standard for a female but must not be too long; two or more was questionably rebellious for a lady.

That was far in the past. Today, the message passed by earrings has evolved. People care less about how shouting, how long and how many are used or which gender is putting it on. It still remains a fashion accessory, and the more precious the material, the better.

What we need

To draw the earrings, I got this comfortable seat with the needed materials all in place. Below are the items I used.

The Procedure

Step 1 [Preparing the Canvas]

Here, my drawing paper is cut and ready with my username and date on the drawing sheet.

Step 2

I started drawing the main body of the earring.

At this point, I had to bring in one of the hooks on the earring

Step 3

I now added the hook to the second earring and a dangling chain to it.

I added more chains to both sides

Step 4

Both earrings had their hooks locked, so I wanted to make a difference. I erased one of the hooks

I drew it again, this time the hook was open

Switching to another phase

Step 5[Shading]

It's now time to add a little colour to the sketch work.

More grey and light blue popping to have something like silver.

Step 6 [Finishing]

It's time to take a selfie

Let me find a quiet place, I don't want any noise interruption showing in this selfie.
