blessed day

Today I spent almost a full day with activities at home. Since morning I have been busy completing the work that was planned previously, namely installing the roof using tarpaulin and making a retaining wall as additional protection around the cottage area. Although this work is quite tiring, I feel satisfied because I can finish it independently with the tools and materials available.

My first step focused on installing the roof from the tarpaulin. The weather lately has been unpredictable, sometimes it rains suddenly, so I decided to immediately close the open part so that water does not enter and damage the building. The tarpaulin I used was quite guess and wide, just need to be careful when installing it so that it does not tear and can cover the roof perfectly. With the help of a hammer, wire ties and a little patience, I managed to install the tarpaulin neatly and firmly attached to the frame that I had prepared earlier.

After the roof section was finished, I continued to the next job to make a supporting wall or a place to lean on. This time I used an areca nut tree that I had previously split manually. I arranged the areca nut trunks neatly as additional supports for the wall area. Although the material is simple, it is strong enough if installed in the right way. I used a labang (traditional chisel) to level the parts to be installed, as well as a hammer and wire to tie each joint to make it sturdy

All day long I went back and forth cutting, lifting and installing materials. Every now and then I took a break to wipe off the sweat and catch my breath. My wife also came several times bringing me drinking water and snacks to keep me energized. Her presence was a source of encouragement in the midst of exhaustion.

Although I feel tired, I feel proud because today's work is quite a lot completed. With simple tools and materials available, I can build something useful for comfort around the house. Today really feels productive and I am grateful for the energy and health that are still given to continue working and improving my home or my little family's place of residence.
