They say team work makes the work work, but how about when your team member decides to do as they like.

Welcome to cleaning day. It's been a few months of non stop rain and there's absolutely nothing I can do about both the rain and the weeds growing and flourishing all around the house. I had been waiting and bidding my time for a day I would have the internal anger needed to weed them out. Today is that day.

I made sure everyone had eaten a weighty portion of breakfast as I knew the task that lay ahead wasn't for a half filled belly. Once breakfast was out of the way, I shared work portions and we all set out to work.

Our target for today is the front yard. You can see how full it looks. Pulling them out may look easy, but in my experience, these little grown weeds are the hardest to root out, nevertheless, we'll do what we can. The kids have started with the backyard while the rest of us take the front yard. Once they are done there, they come join us. See them triumphantly walking in and posing. I agree it's a good time to take pictures so we do a few clicks.

By this time, we've halfway on the front yard, still help is never rejected when it's offered genuinely and needed. Work continues like we never stopped and now you can see the compound returning to its beautiful state.

It takes us 1 hour and 45 minutes working as a team to complete this work as opposed to 3/4 hours it would take one person.
Knock, knock, we hear at the gate, my mum is back and with her begins another round of work for me. Thankfully we're done with this side, so I follow mummy to the backyard. The birds are about to receive a routine vaccine.

They've been fed but think it best to litre the ground with their food. All I know is that before I give them any more grain of food, they would have picked the ground clean, if not. Anyways, they all wanted to see what the commotion was about as my little nephew kept asking loud questions. See one poking his head out

How would you know a good and useful apprentice except he takes pictures😂. My little apprentice who all he can do for me is to say shoo, shoo, shoo!
