Diary Game 8th May 2025|| My Visit To University of Nigeria Nsukka, Enugu State.

The past few weeks have seen me touring my country in a triangle.
First stop was Delta state, then I went to Enugu where I visited University of Nigeria Nsukka. It is my fist time setting foot in the state though i think I have passed by a few times but this time my destination was the state.
The first thing you'll notice when you enter Enugu is the change in topography. The land is quite different from anything I've seen elsewhere. Large lush and green landscape litter the length of this state with mountains rising and falling like the waters of kainji dam. I was here for it.
I especially loved the serene environment at this place, not like the usual hustle and bustle of the city I'm coming from.

From there, our guide took us to the great University of Nigeria Nsukka. This university is one of the oldest in my country, It has seen and tutored the likes of;

  • Pastor Enoch Adeboye - Pastor, The Redeemed Christian Church of God(worldwide).
  • Chimamanda Adichie - Renown Writer and woman activist.
  • Dora Akuyili - Late director general of NAFDAC
  • Herbert Wigwe and many more so you can imagine my excitement to be here and walk it's grounds.

Trust me to take as many beautiful pictures, as this was a dream come through.

Right from the entrance to the school, there were many scenic views, lush green trees divided the road into two and provided a forest of shelter for the people living there. Such a beautiful sight to behold.

Anyways, I came here to cover a program and I quickly got immersed in the activities of the day. Setting up our camera's, and my media gadgets, giving instructions and coordinating the team already on ground.
One of the things on my bucket list was to buy the infamous okpa Enugu. This okpa is special because it's a native meal of the Enugu people same way Ofe Owerri is indigenous to the Owerri people. They prepare it with special spices and use a particular palm frond wrap to case it. This was top of my list so I asked for it and my request was granted as this was what I used to break my fast on the morning of the next day.

Look at the rich yellow colour of the okpa, it's taste divine. I was satisfied. Of course they have other delicacies like abacha Enugu (processed and boiled cassava flakes) which is mixed with a special sauce called Ngwo Ngwo. This special sauce is what brings out the taste of the abacha, but nope, I didn't trust my stomach to hold it in and since I had a couple of raid trips ahead of me, I had to skip it.

Two days of touring the school, making new friends and riding a bicycle and I was ready to jet off to the next city.
