in STEEM FOR BETTERLIFE9 months ago

Hi everyone,
I hope you all are doing well. Today, I thought I’d share something about my most personal and favorite hobby READING I never considered myself much of a reader convinced that reading just wasn't for me. But suddenly my interest develpoed towards reading I discovered a whole new world within the pages of a book but how did that happen ??

Eventually, my aunt used to read digests (a type of book in which weekly episodes of a novel are published). I always saw her reading them in her free time, and she shared the interesting stories with all of us. However, at that moment, I still hadn’t developed an interest in reading. but i always enjoy listening novel from her .

My First Read

Many years later, while I was preparing for my ECAT test for university entrance, one of our teachers suddenly told me and my friends that we should all start reading books. Just take the first step, and I am sure you will love it.So from there, this chapter of my life started. I heard about a book exhibition in 2021. I decided to go and randomly picked an English author’s book, "It Ends With Us" which was very famous at that time.

I read the book and enjoyed it. So, I borrowed another books from my cousin a fantasy and romance novel. but I didn’t enjoy the genre. I felt like something was missing while reading, but I couldn’t figure out what it was, so I put it back.

Urdu Novels

A few days later, my Instagram feed was filled with recommendations for Urdu novels That made me decide to give Urdu reading a chance.

Then I started with the very famous novel of all time, "PIR-E-KAMIL." Halfway through, I realized that this was what I had been missing while reading other authors: "the purity and spirituality." That was the first time I thought deeply about it, and it became a turning point for me. "A good book heals the reader," and that’s exactly what "PIR-E-KAMIL" was doing for me. The main question, "What is next to ecstasy?" quoted by Umera Ahmed, kept me engaged with the novel until the end. that book leave a very deep impact on my mind i never imagined a book can be written so well and so deep about life , god , sprituallity , love , wait , purity , repentance.
after that i read so many novel of her ..

After that, I never stopped reading other Urdu authors. I discovered Nemrah Ahmed and gave her novel "Jannat Ka Pattay" a try. Oh my God, it just blew my mind! The deep concepts and purity in her writing were remarkable. She portrayed romance in such a pure and meaningful way, and the title itself was so significant that I think I finished the book within a week.
Then I read "NAMAL," "HALIM," and "MAALA," all written by Nemrah Ahmed.

Why do I love Urdu novels more than those by English authors? The answer is simple: "purity." I’m not saying that English authors don’t write well; of course, they do. I enjoyed reading "The Silent Patient," "Better Than the Movies," and many more. However, I really didn’t enjoy the 18+ unnecessary content in some English books. That’s not what I pick up a book for. In contrast, Urdu novels are free from such content; they always stick to the title and explain everything with references. Whether it’s love, romance, thriller, action, suspense, or drama, everything is written so well and purely that I truly enjoy it. I lose myself in the story.
