Dance Challenge Video by @bossj23 ft @nsijoro ["My Darling — Song by Chella]
Are you a Nigerian TikToker? If you are, you'll know that there's what we call trends and that these trends come up when there's a new song. Chella, a Nigerian artiste, dropped a new song with the Title My Darling . In no time, Nigerians took the song personally when he dropped his music video. They made the song trend as usual. The song is a vibby song that can fit into any setting.
Following the dance video he dropped, people dropped their own dance steps with elegance on their TikTok handles and made themselves trend as other TikTokers followed their lead. Sometimes I always wonder who usually starts this trend. My darling is a trending song [Afrobeat special] with sensational lyrics and glorified beats.
This song has made a lot of content creators trend. They have their followers, likes and views increased by hopping on the trend and making it better than other creators. With every step, they move their bodies with style and pride. So we decided to hop on this challenge as Steemians, as not all challenges are easy to do.

Sweet Melody
Once they hear sweet Melody, they'll follow the musical beats and make their bodies available to take the following steps....
- Bend your head down and shake it following the rhythm. Your legs should also be in constant motion; after a few seconds, you listen to the change of beats.
How do you know when the beats are changed?
You'll hear someone's voice......Uwuuuhhhh. With this, you'll definitely know when to switch. Let's take it again.
Step 1: Your legs and whole body should be in constant motion. Your legs should be shaken inward and outward as you bend your head. As your head is bent, it is shaken for a few seconds and then taken up with your face vertically upwards. As your face is placed vertically upwards, it is shaken too.
Step 2: After that, you cross your hands simultaneously to the right and to the left with your upper body moving in and out. You'll always have to lower your body when doing this particular step. What do I mean? You won't be standing. You'll appear as if you're sitting on a chair with your legs slanted, moving to the left first, then to the right.
Step 3 When you hear the next voice, you'll change your step by raising your right hand up, your left hand up and your right hand down. Up and down movements of both hands till you hear the next voice.
Step 4: The next step after hearing the next voice is for you to keep your left hand up, bend as if you're sitting, join your legs together and then move them from the left to the right for about 7 seconds before doing the last step, which is shown in the video.
Then you freestyle with any moves you know.

My experience during the dance |
---|
It wasn't as easy as I thought it was because if you're not focused, you'll fumble at some point, which means you'll have to start all over again. @whizzbro4eva was our director and cameraman. He was the one giving instructions on how we would stand and boundaries we shouldn't go beyond.
@nsijoro and I were the dancers. We made our intro a fabulous one by hopping to the stage and then crossed ourselves with a handshake. After trying this 5 times, we perfected it and then made the full video without mistakes as it was getting dark. At some point, I didn't remember the moves. I had to freestyle so that the mistake won't be prominent. In all, the dance was a success. We took pictures after countless tries and failures. The director himself was tired of our shenanigans.
These are a few pictures of how satisfied and happy we were. We wore vintage outfits, though, not the same fabric. These are a few specifications from the dance video behind the scenes.
Bossj23 | Black stripe matching vintage [Up and down] and white Nike sneakers |

Nsijoro | Brown Stripe Matching vintage [Up and down] and coffee brown cover shoe. |
Audio device | Zealot MP3 speaker |
Video coverage device | Redmi Note 14 and a ring light stand for support. |
Stage | Oba field, off Airport Rd, Uyo. |
I've set a 45% beneficiary to @nsijoro for being featured with me in the dance and a 10% to our director. @whizzbro4eva
