Teachers' in Action: Accepting Enrollees for School Year 2025-2026

Time flew by in a blink. Here we are now. The day we've been counting down to with my friend has finally arrived. Today, our school officially called us in to kick off "Brigada Eskwela " (school preparation for the opening of classes). Back to reality, we go.

I've gotten way too used to waking up late that I felt so tired today. But it's game over! No more unlimited naps... It's time to grind again!

Me happily welcoming our new students

Let's get to work!
There is no room for tardiness, as our Brigada Eskwela requires strict daily time records. We've got 8 a.m clock-in and 5 p.m. clock-out. But here's the sweet part... We will be earning service credits, and that's what keeps us pumped. So, alright, let's do this without any grumbles!

Today kicked off with an opening program that clarified what this whole event is about. This is a week-long event. And just like that, classes start immediately after! So, to put it simply, today marks the end of our glorious vacation as teachers.

Sponsors from private sector who donated paints

Post-program, we got our principal's usual pep talk. Some sponsors even donated paints to help with classroom prep, how nice! Then came my assignment. Since I handle Grade 10, we were grouped to process enrollees. Let me tell you, today was no walk in the park. The crowd was no joke. Some came with their moms, while others needed extra guidance since they came alone. There, teacher mode is activated!

Before we hear any grumbling, better work fast. No whining allowed, we chose this teacher life! Trust me, nobody wants to hear complaints... right?

Before we knew it, morning was done. So, we do a quick time-out, then right back in for the afternoon shift. And here's the best part... our dear principal treated us to free lunch! That was so nice of him... You know, free food fuels our tired souls. Ajah!

Accepting enrollees

Alright, back to enrolling students again! Afternoon's way calmer... most have already come through, maybe. Finally got to chit-chat with my co-teachers too. Oh! Almost forgot, there's actually an option for parents who can't join Brigada. They can still support through donations instead... handy, right?

The last form is filed, and the final "Ma'am, wait po!" has been answered. And my teacher squad is ready to clock out. I can't help but smile. Today was tiring but rewarding. A typical teacher's life.
