in STEEM FOR BETTERLIFElast month

All mass media in Indonesia must pass administrative and factual verification by the Indonesian Press Council. The struggle to pass verification is not easy, it can even take years without the support of quality human resources.

One of the media that I helped, kabartamiang.com, finally passed verification. This achievement also makes me proud even though I am no longer there.

Through a long and winding struggle, finally this media, kabartamiang.com, was officially verified administratively and factually since March 27, 2025 with certificate number 1354 / DP-Verifikasi / K / III / 2025 signed by the Chairperson of the Indonesian Press Council, Ninik Rahayu in Jakarta.

This is an achievement that all mass media must go through in accordance with existing regulations and we are proud to convey the good news to all readers and partners who have supported us so far.

The mass media in Indonesia must be verified by the Press Council as mandated by Article 15 paragraph (2) letter f of Law Number 40/1999 concerning the Press. In addition, Article 9 Ayah (2) also reminds media companies that they must comply with Indonesian law, which is one of the requirements for media verification.

The Press Council has also issued Press Council Regulation Number 01/Peraturan-DP/X/2023 concerning Media Organizer Data Collection which reminds of the importance of media data collection and verification as an effort to maintain journalistic standards and press professionalism.

In addition, there is also Press Council Regulation Number 03/Peraturan-DP/X/2019 concerning Press Company Standards which details a number of requirements that must be met to meet the standards as a media company. This regulation is not intended to increase the bureaucratic burden of press companies, but rather to maintain the professionalism of the press in Indonesia.

At least, a press company must be a legal entity, have a clear editorial structure, follow the Journalistic Code of Ethics, and implement welfare for journalists.

To be verified administratively and factually, this media must meet a number of criteria, both legally and the professionalism standards that we meet. This means that this media has worked hard to prepare for the verification process. Among these requirements, there is a certain waiting period, such as competence in the editorial staff.

For us, this achievement is a spur to enthusiasm and motivation to strengthen professionalism, both in business and editorial staff. We hope that cooperation with various parties will increase and be sustainable considering the media competency standards that have been achieved.

This verification certificate, both administratively and factually, proves that this online media has met professional, independent, and responsible journalistic standards. This achievement also strengthens our commitment to improving the quality and quality of news reporting and business line management.

We admit that in the midst of advances in digital technology and artificial intelligence like today, it is not easy to maintain, let alone increase the level to increase further.

Not only is the competition between online media increasingly tight, but the existence of social media platforms that allow everyone to access news from various sources.

However, by continuing to improve professionalism and ethical standards, we are confident that we will continue to exist as a press company that presents local, national, and international news. For the last segment, of course with a limited portion that has a strong proximity to the interests of our readers and partners.

We would like to thank all readers and partners who have supported us intensely. We hope that this collaboration and synergy can be improved in the future.[]
