Jembatan Ampera After Rain: Travel |
Jembatan Ampera sehabis hujan.
Bridges are not just a means of crossing. Bridges are the history and landscape of a city, starting from the history of the city as a whole, the history of an important event, to the history of the construction of the bridge itself.
Likewise with the Ampera Bridge (jembatan) that divides the Musi River in Palembang, South Sumatra, Indonesia.
This is my second review after the Suramadu Bridge that connects Madura with Surabaya. At the end of 2024, my friends and I participated in Bawaslu activities in Palembang, and took the time to go to the Ampera Bridge, and sat down to enjoy bandrek at a hangout under the Ampera Bridge.
We ordered bandrek, a typical Indonesian drink that has a strong spice base. A typical drink when we enjoy the atmosphere on the Ampera Bridge after the rain.
Sayangnya foto hanya bagus dengan format potrait. Tidak cocok dengan lanskap.
Yes, it had just rained and we had just finished attending a national work meeting. We chose to take a night walk to the Ampera Bridge, an icon of Palembang City.
This bridge, built in 1962, was funded by Japanese government aid as compensation for World War II. Initially, this bridge was named the Soekarno Bridge, taking the name of the first President of the Republic of Indonesia. It was renamed the Amanat Penderitaan Rakyat (Ampera) Bridge in 1966.
Raindrops were still lingering when we arrived there. The bright red Ampera Bridge looked sparkling when illuminated by the lights. Red is not the only color of the Ampera Bridge. Previously, this bridge had been painted gray.
From the bridge, we could see Kuto Besak Fort which is located far from the 1,117 meter long and 22 meter wide bridge. Kuto Besak Fort is a historic fort left by Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin I in the 18th century. Unfortunately, that night Kuto Besak Fort looked dark and our cellphone camera couldn't reach it.
around the bridge, visitors can also enjoy the beautiful scenery while enjoying Palembang's specialties at the floating food stalls. Floating food stalls are boat-shaped stalls that float on the waters of the Musi River. From here, visitors can enjoy the beauty of the Ampera Bridge and the Musi River at night.
But that night, we didn't have time to enjoy the culinary delights at the floating food stalls because we had already eaten at the hotel and drank under the Ampera Bridge. There is no charge to cross the Ampera Bridge.
If Steemians stop by the city of Palembang, don't forget to stop by for a few minutes at the Ampera Bridge and enjoy Palembang's specialties such as empek-empek at the floating food stalls. The history of a city's journey, dissolved with the night that continues to grow old. []

Based on my cross reference with the bridge in the google map, your Steem Atlas pin is correct and in the right place. ✔
But just an advice bro, much be better if you used the general name of the bridge as a title; like this.
Jembatan Ampera Bridge, Palembang
