The Impact of Modern Vehicles in the Current World

Transportation has been one of man's greatest concerns since inception. The reason for this concern is that man had to move around to cater for basic needs and also an adaptive feature. This concern has made him to invent different vehicles that facilitate easy movement. Lately, there has been a controversy regarding means of transportation. Let's discuss it here.

Fuel powered vehicles are one of the most common features of the modern world. It's important that this modern world cannot be overemphasized. Quicker means of transport are achieved using fuel powered vehicles. This feature was absent in the prehistoric times whereby a person who wishes to travel a thousand miles must be prepared to travel that mile. This feature saves the energy of that particular person thereby making it energy efficient.

As we all know that any fuel driven vehicle must emit smoke. According to research, it is known that vehicle smoke contains Hydrocarbons, Carbon monoxide and other toxic gases. When this gases from the smoke join with the atmospheric gases, it can pose a great threat to the environment and its inhabitants. Below is the breakdown of the threats posed to the environment by smoke.

• The air can be polluted due to abnormalities from the constituents of gases.
• Greenhouse gas emission can be possible because of the high content of carbons and contributing to global warming.
• The soil and water can stand a chance to be contaminated.
  In general, fuel powered vehicles are not environmentally friendly.

I strongly believe that fossil fuel can be exhausted if it is overused or over-dependent. We all know that the origin of fossil fuel is formed from the remains of plants and animals buried under pressure for millions of years. So, if the available amount is used, it will take another millions of years to form a new set of Fossil fuel. My answer is that we can make it disappear if it's overused.

Here is the summary of the advantages and disadvantages of fuel powered vehicles.

Advantages

• It is easier to operate as its source of power (fuel) is readily available.
• It is usually easier to maintain or repair as spare parts are readily available
• It can be more reliable as fuel may last than electric driven cars.

Disadvantages

• The smoke emission can result in ozone depletion making the Earth vulnerable to ultraviolet rays
• Environmental degradation can also be seen.

To reduce the use of fossil fuel in vehicles, we have to use other alternate modes of transportation like the electric cars. The issue is that it can be expensive but bicycles or skateboards can be preferable. I think using alternative modes of transportation can curb the risks posed by fuel powered vehicles.
