🏵️THE DIARY GAME 🏵️

I have a habit of waking up early every morning. As soon as I wake up, the first thing I do is perform the Fajr prayer. After the prayer, sometimes I take a short nap in the morning. This habit of sleeping again after Fajr developed during my childhood. So, if there’s no pressure of work, I usually sleep for a while in the morning.

Today, after finishing my Fajr prayer and returning to my room, I looked outside and saw that the sky was cloudy. The chirping of birds outside created a beautiful atmosphere. It felt very pleasant to see such a scene. We are quite familiar with this kind of environment, especially in rural areas where mornings can be enjoyed in such a serene way.

After that, I fell asleep for a short while. When I woke up, I saw that my mother had already prepared breakfast. Today’s breakfast at our home was fried potatoes and roti. I really enjoy eating fried potatoes with roti; it is one of my favorite meals. Whenever I travel far away, I ask my mother to prepare roti and fried potatoes for me to take along. So, I happily finished my breakfast with these.

After breakfast, my mother told me that we were out of eggs. So, I set out for the market to buy some. I bought a tray of eggs — typically, such a tray contains thirty eggs. Today, the price of eggs was much lower than usual. The total cost for the thirty eggs was 275 Taka. Since today is Pahela Baishakh, everyone was busy buying fish and meat, which reduced the demand for eggs, causing the price to drop.I brought the eggs home safely.

After returning home, I saw my little cousin sister dressed in a yellow saree, ready to go to her school program. Pohela Boishakh is an integral part of our culture. The thousand-year-old traditions of the Bengali nation are reflected through various programs. Little Nabilla looked very beautiful in her saree. I said to her, "Sister, please stand still, let me take a picture of you." As soon as I said it, I captured a few photos on my phone. She was very happy. Seeing her joyous moments reminded me of the festive atmosphere of old fairs. After a while, she left home to head towards her school.

After she left, I sat at home chatting with my family. The topic was, of course, Pohela Boishakh. In earlier days, Pohela Boishakh used to be celebrated with even greater grandeur. Nowadays, it seems some of those cultural aspects are slowly fading away. We were discussing these things together.

While chatting, I realized a lot of time had passed, and I hadn't yet fed the cows. So, I went to cut grass for them. Nowadays, grass is cut using machines, which makes the task quicker and less tiring. In the past, grass had to be cut manually, which could take over an hour. But now, it takes less than five minutes, thanks to the grass-cutting machines that save so much time.

After cutting the grass, I saw all the cows standing and waiting. First, I cleaned the cowshed properly. Then I gave them water. After that, I placed grass in front of each cow. They were happily eating the grass. When I am at home, I usually take care of the cows. I really enjoy looking after them. I have been caring for cows since my childhood.

And thus, the day passed. Despite the small busy tasks, it was a very beautiful day. When I move to Dhaka, I will probably miss these kinds of days. All in all, it was a wonderful day.
