Sadarghat is a river port in the ancient city of Dhaka, Bangladesh, which developed into a trading place in the 19th century. Sadarghat is the largest launch port in Bangladesh. Sadarghat is the epicenter of Dhaka's river-based communication system, especially in the southern region. Numerous launches are crowded and boats are carrying passengers from one side to the other.

View inside the terminal.

It is managed by the Bangladesh Inland Waterways Authority. The name of this river is Buriganga and launches leave from this port to destinations in the southern region of Bangladesh such as Patuakhali, Barguna, Bhola, Jhalakathi, Madaripur, Shariatpur, Chandpur, Khulna, Hatia, Bagerhat. This is the ancient and traditional port of Dhaka. It operates on about 45 river routes.

Historians believe that this river port is about a thousand years old. Usually, ancient settlement civilizations developed around the river. The antiquity of the Buriganga River is mentioned as 'Old Ganges' two thousand years ago.

I see the launch inside the launch terminal and the launch will leave for its destination in some time.

It can be easily reached from any local of the capital Dhaka, but not only from the capital Dhaka but also from all districts, and the road is very good and convenient. You can reach this port directly by rickshaw from the main Dhaka Gulistan. It will take 30 minutes to walk from Gulistan and if you go by rickshaw, the rickshaw fare will be only 80 taka. Every year during the Eid holidays, millions of passengers travel from this port by launch as the most comfortable way to go from Dhaka to the village.

The launches are lined up, and will set off on their journey like a serial..

There are several ghats in this port and launches of specific districts or places are available in front of each ghat and there are launches in front of the ghat.

There is a ticket counter at the launch pier and the entry fee is only 10 taka per person.

However, this port is open 24 hours a day and there is no weekly closure. A ticket is required to enter the port and the ticket price is only 10 taka.

The administration center of the launch terminal and it is subject to the law

For security, the administration always has an outpost inside the port, which they handle if there is any problem and they play a special role for security. They always keep this port calm and the environment is good. Many people find it comfortable here because of the beautiful environment inside.

1000030321.jpg1000030343.jpg

There are nice resting facilities for passengers.

There are chairs and tables inside for rest, waiting for the launch, or stopping at the launch ghat at the end of the night, it is not safe to go out at this time of night, so there is a seating area inside, besides, passengers sit and rest here.

The convenience of leaving one gate for the launch and moving to another launch.

*However, to go from one ghat to another easily, there is a long beautiful road inside, which is a nice arrangement for catching or traveling from one launch to another.*

The porters are wearing specific uniforms and green shirts as ordered by the authorities to carry the goods..

There are many porters here to carry goods and goods for business. They always carry these big loads of goods in exchange for money. And there is a uniform for them as per the instructions of the authorities. And in the picture, these are the people in green uniforms.

It⏰ is open 24 hours a day.

is no specific weekly closure.

Ticket price per person is 10 taka (0.625 steems at the steem price)
