There are many countries in the world. Their living arrangements, family, social, and cultural positions are different due to their geographical location. We all have a great interest in learning about each other. Today, through the Steemit Blog's Learning Challenge, we will be able to learn how we celebrate our national festivals.

Today I will highlight how Eid ul Azha is celebrated in Bangladesh. I am a Muslim. I celebrate Eid ul Azha. It is celebrated all over the world. However, due to geographical location, there are some differences in its arrangements, celebration food tastes, etc.

The history of Eid-ul-Azha

Origin of Eid ul-Azha

The origin of Eid ul-Azha is deeply related in the history of Islam. This festival is celebrated in memory of the great prophet Ibrahim (AS)'s infinite devotion and sacrifice to Allah, according to Islamic rulse. Allah Almighty commanded him to sacrifice his beloved son Ismail (AS). He was ready to follow the Command of Almighty. But when he was ready to carry out that command, Allah accepted an animal sacrifice instead of Ismail as a reward for his obedience. From that moments Muslims sacrifice in remembrance of this event.

Meaning of Eid ul-Azha

The word "Eid" is Arabic, which means joy or celebration.

The word "Azha" means sacrifice or animal sacrifice.
This day is therefore also known as the "Eid of Sacrifice".

Emotions and Feelings of Eid ul-Azha

Eid ul-Azha is not just a festival; It is a symbol of sacrifice, loyalty, compassion and sharing. On this day, people express gratitude to Allah. Meat is shared with the poor and helpless, which practices equality. Family and social bonds are strengthened.

Participants

Eid ul-Adha is attended by all Muslim men, women and children who are adults and able-bodied. Pilgrims who stay in Mecca and perform Hajj, especially in Mina, sacrifice animals. Those in the Muslim community who are eligible for sacrifice sacrifice animals.

Time of occurrence (date)

Eid ul-Adha occurs on the 10th day of Zilhijjah, the 12th month of the Islamic calendar, the day after Hajj.

My opinion & feelings

I am a Muslim, so I am deeply involved in this celebration. I celebrate Eid ul Azha every year. Celebrating Eid was a lot of fun in my childhood. But now, more than the fun, there is a bit more responsibility. This celebration is a tradition of all Muslim communities. It has been celebrated for hundreds of years. This celebration is different from others because we have many special days or events in the year that we celebrate for ourselves. But this day we celebrate to please the Creator.

I am discussing how we celebrate Eid al-Adha in our country, the clothes we wear, and the traditional foods we eat.

Before Eid days

Eid shopping

I go to the market to shop for my family. I shop for myself and other family members.

Going to village

Many of us live in the city for work. When Eid comes, there is a joy and emotion in going to the village.

Meet family members

Everyone is very happy after meeting with the whole family.

Come to market for buying sacrifacial animal

The most joyful, emotional and exciting moment of Eid ul Azha is going to buy animals at the market. The vendors bring different types of animals to the market. From there, you can choose the animal of your choice. You go around the entire market and choose different animals, haggle with the vendors about the price of the animals and finally return home with the cow. All these tasks are done with joy.

Preparing Eid Ground

It is better to offer Eid prayers in the field. Therefore, this Eid field in our region is being prepared for offering prayers.

Eid day

Wearing Panjabi

Eid day is different from other days. Preparations start in the morning. Wake up in the morning and take a bath. Then, wear Punjabi and pajamas and leave for the Eid ground. Wearing Punjabi pajamas to offer Eid prayers is a tradition for Bangladeshis. Especially for many of us, our entire family wears the same color and type of Punjabi.

At The Eid ground for Eid Prayer

We all go to the field to offer Eid prayers. People from many nearby villages and regions come to offer prayers at the Eidgah.

After prayer

After praying, we all meet each other. We live in different places for the needs of life. When everyone comes to the village house during the Eid holidays, we exchange skills with each other.

Cutting the meat of the sacrificial animal

After the prayer, we go down to the animal sacrifice. We slaughter the animal and cut the meat. For a day, we become butchers. We cut our own animal ourselves. This is done with great joy.

Cooking

Usually on this day we cook with great pleasure.

Eating traditional food

The most popular and traditional dish in our region is beef with rice bread.

Next days of eid

In the days following Eid, we visit close relatives' homes. We travel to various tourist attractions.

Special features of Eid ul Azha

Eid ul Azha is a special day for the global Muslim community. On this day, financially prosperous people try to please their Creator by sacrificing animals. They distribute the meat of animals among the financially disadvantaged. This creates mutual brotherhood. An infinite limit of love for each other is established.

Here is a warm, emotional, short sentence inspired by the spirit of the "Type Less, Smile More" project:

"Sacrifice with a smile, keep love in your heart."
&
"Sharing meat, singing joy!"

This sentences captures the spirit of sacrifice, joy, and camaraderie of Eid.

Saludos amigo.

Muchas suerte.

Though I didn't understand what you said in the video, the motion pictures were evident that you celebrated a festival and one thing that always intrigue me in you guys celebration is the togetherness. I've never been to a slaughter before to see how cows are butchered but it's evident you do it yourself in preparation for Eid festival. Best of luck in this challenge. I heard salama leku...😁😁😁😁
