The Diary Game | 10 Sep 2025 | An Evening in Pallabi,Dhaka
Hello friends,
Yesterday afternoon, I set out from Mohammadpur towards my sister’s home in Pallabi. As always, Dhaka’s notorious traffic greeted me with its relentless chaos. Cars honked impatiently, buses crawled along in long queues, and rickshaws maneuvered through the tiniest of gaps. It took almost an hour and a half to finally reach my destination. By then, my body was tired, but little did I know that a moment of pure beauty was waiting to refresh my soul.
When I arrived in Pallabi, I stopped for a while under the flyover. The sun was slowly setting, and the sky above me was turning into a masterpiece. Hues of orange, pink, and golden light painted the canvas of the horizon. Some clouds glowed as if brushed with fire, while others softened into pastel shades. The transformation of the sky was so mesmerizing that I found myself standing still, forgetting the noise around me, simply gazing upwards in awe.
The contrast struck me deeply. On one side, the bustling city vehicles rushing past, towering buildings rising high, people hurrying through their daily routines. On the other, the evening sky, calm and magical, casting a glow that made everything look softer and more beautiful. From where I sat under the flyover, it felt as though the sky had been framed, like a perfect picture hanging above the city.
Instinctively, I reached for my phone and captured a few shots. But no photograph could truly capture the feeling of that moment. The soft light, the blend of colors, and the serenity that filled the air it was an experience to be lived, not just seen. For a short while, the city’s chaos faded into the background, and I felt at peace, as if the sky itself had offered me a quiet escape.
After sitting there for a few minutes, soaking in the beauty, I resumed my walk towards my sister’s home. Yet, I carried with me the calmness of that scene. It reminded me that even in the busiest cities, where noise and congestion dominate daily life, nature still finds a way to touch our hearts. The sky does not belong to anyone; it spreads its beauty freely, offering us moments of stillness if only we choose to look up.
Yesterday’s evening was more than just a passing hour of the day it was a reminder to pause, breathe, and appreciate the little things. Too often, we get caught up in schedules, deadlines, and responsibilities, forgetting that peace can be found in the simplest of places. Sitting under a flyover in Pallabi, surrounded by noise, I found a kind of tranquility that no fancy spot could provide.
As I now look at the pictures I took, they carry more than just colors they hold the memory of a rare moment when the sky gave me a reason to smile after a long, tiring journey. And that, perhaps, is the true gift of nature in a city like Dhaka.
