District Government Public Library, Dinajpur
I spend most of my time in the library studying. Today I am going to include District government public library, Dinajpur in the steem atlas map. Library is a good place for studying where there is a huge collection of books here. This library is open to the public and gives equal priority to all readers.
The District Government Public Library is open from 9 am to 5 pm. This library has two reading rooms. One reading room is for adults and in the general reading room, a separate table is allocated for national newspapers. There are many shelves for books in the library which are full of books. The books are kept separately according to the classification. The number of books here is more than 40,000. I am saying 40,000 because it has a capacity of 40,000 books, but this time the number of books has increased further due to the arrival of new books.
The general reading room is designed like a seminar room. There are 3 rows of tables below, each row of tables can seat 24 readers, which is 3*24=72 people. There is a row of tables above where 24 people can sit. There are shelves full of books all around the library.
We are not allowed to bring our own books here, but since the academy books are not new editions, we bring our own books here. Bags are not allowed, so there is a shelf for storing bags.
The extension activities carried out by this library are: 1. Reader service 2. Reference service 3. Recent information service 4. Consultation service 5. Selected information distribution service 6. Information search service 7. Book transaction service 8. Photocopy service 9. Advisory service 10. Old newspaper service. Along with this, free internet service is provided here.
There is a weighing machine for the general public. There is a purifier for drinking water, which is for the readers' drinking water. There is also an aquarium for beauty, but there are no fish or other animals in the aquarium now.
Here, a single copy of each of the national newspapers of Bangladesh comes regularly, which is associated with the country's national news dissemination activities. The District Public Library organizes various competitions to increase the reading habits of the readers and increase competitive activities. Essay and drawing competitions on different days. Handwriting competitions, recitation and various workshops are organized.
Now we go to the 2nd reading room (children's reading room). This is a reading room allocated only for children. In the general reading room, silence is maintained and some rules have to be followed. There are no restrictions for children. This reading room has various toys for them and various books for children that attract children.
There is a garage for the readers to keep their motorcycles and bicycles. The library has a beautiful environment. There are various flowering trees and fruit trees around the library. From the beginning, I wanted to include my favorite places in the steem atlas, but I was not able to use the steem atlas map, so it was quite late.
