Kalia Jiu Temple of Dinajpur Rajbari

Dinajpur Rajbari and the state were established by King Dinraj Ghosh. Dinajpur was under the rule of King Ramnath until 1760. Dinajpur Rajbari is now almost in ruins. Dinajpur Rajbari was built in 1414 AD during the rule of King Dinraj. This district was named Dinajpur after this Dinraj Ghosh. Today I am going to write about this Rajbari of Dinajpur district and add it to steem atlas. It could have been an interesting place for archeology and tourism, but it is being destroyed due to neglect and carelessness. Although the appearance of the Rajbari was not like this in the beginning, it is in such a state due to neglect.

The main hall of the palace

The palace is divided into three parts: Ayna Mahal, Rani Mahal and Thakurbari Mahal, and there are also some small structures such as a charity hospital, rest house, temple etc. Now two parts of this abandoned palace are used for worship, one is for Durga Puja and the other is a temple. Let's take a tour of the entire palace with some pictures taken by me.

The main building of the palace (current condition inside the Queen's Palace)

The Rani Mahal was the innermost part of the palace where the women of the palace lived. The Rani Mahal was located towards the inner part of the palace, far from the main gate. The main palace was next to the Rani Mahal. The outer buildings were used for the king's administration and for the subjects to communicate or collect taxes. Behind the main building of the palace are two large ponds known as Padmapukur and Sukhsagar. These remnants of the palace have fallen into such a bad state due to lack of care and maintenance.

The statue greets and bids farewell upon entering the Rajbari temple in Dinajpur.

Some parts of Rajbari are under the responsibility of Raj Debottar Estate. In this part, there is the Durga Puja and Kalia Jiu Temple. Let's see those two parts. This is the Durga Puja part and it is renovated once every year. The entire area is cleaned and painted in colors. In the midst of the pompous puja arrangements in Dinajpur, this also becomes a puja mandap for the followers of traditional religions. At the time of entering the temple, this idol is welcomed and there is another idol that bids you farewell.

Dinajpur Rajbari Temple is the only part of the Rajbari where regular worship is performed.

Nowadays, most of the visitors come to see this part of the temple. There are many valuable and old idols inside this temple. The doors of the temple are opened every evening and worship is performed. There are a few Hindu priests who worship this temple.

The front part of the temple which is reserved for returning devotees.

There is a seating area for Hindu visitors in front of the temple for worship and other pilgrims. There is also seating around the temple and additional seating and overnight accommodation for visitors during the puja.

Temporary administration camp at Rajbari Temple

The administration has made arrangements for security and avoiding any trouble during the puja in this temple. A temporary camp has been set up for the administration. Only during the puja or during any religious festival, to ensure the smooth completion of the puja

Durga Puja is organized in this part of Rajbari

There is one main gate to enter the palace and separate main gates to enter each chamber.

There is no entry fee to Dinajpur Rajbari. It is only used for worship and religious activities by Hindus. The Rajbari is being destroyed due to carelessness and negligence. I have shared a website, it is Wikipedia which is written in Bengali.

Thank you for your valuable support @fantvwiki Sir .
