Little Flood

When I was growing up in my neighborhood there was always flood in the streets, the flood aren't always much but they make us uncomfortable alot. Each time is raining in the school I always know that there will be so much flood in my street while going back home after school.

Whenever we arrived at street alot of students and I will remove our shoes and socks, holding on our hands while crossing the flood. There are floods worst that this particular picture I uploaded in this post but I don't have pictures of them that's why am using this one as an example to say my story. I was so used to this situation but it was never a good experience at all.

The road isn't really good and the water doesn't flow to anywhere that's why we experienced alot of flooding in the past, currently the rate of flood in my street has reduced, the roads are balanced a bit now. I can recall how crossing a flood made me ill one day in my first year in senior high school. I was coming back from school that day and heavy started when I was still inside the Keke.

The rain was too heavy and I wished I had alot of cash I would have told the driver to take me direct to myself and not stop me at the junction of my street. I arrived at the junction of my street, paid the driver and rushed out from the Keke, headed straight to a shop for shelter to wait till when the rain stops or reduces because it was too heavy.

I was happy waiting for the rain to reduced because while doing so time was going and not waiting for me, I needed to arrive home on time, eat lunch, do my assignments and other things because the next day was school and not a weekend or public holiday. The rain reduced and I entered inside the street, feeling very cold because alot of wind blew and touches everyone outside.

I faced a huge flood that was deep, I was quite scared and it was the only road I can pass to get home. I have already removed my shoes and socks while waiting for the rain to reduced, when I saw the flood I dragged my trousers upward so that it won't soak while putting my legs inside the deep water. I crossed the flood successfully but so much cold entered my legs. I was very weak when I arrived home and I became ill for three days after that incident, I guess school stressed added to the cold I got and made me ill.
