Powerup and win/ (176.567)

Powering up our Steem is like putting our Steem into good use as it turns into Steem Power, and the more Steem we power up, the more Steem Power we get. In that case, what is Steem power and what is so special about it?

Most of us just power up our Steem without really knowing the benefits of it and what it is all about. What does Steem power mean to you, if I may ask? Well, for me, I think of Steem Power as a special unit on Steemit. It is not just about saving the Steem tokens, but more like a combination of saving these tokens and increasing my voting power. I.e., the more Steem Power I have, the more influence I get on the platform while also having a better curation reward.

This means that powering up our steem is likened to someone investing in a company, where the more the person invests money and gets more shares in the company, the more say the person will have in how the company is runed. Similarly, on Steemit, the more Steem Power we have, the more we have in what content gets promoted and rewarded.

With all these in mind, let's get into the powering up procedure, shall we?

Step 1: I logged into my Steemit wallet using the active key.

Step 2: I took the screenshot of my total Steem power before the power up, which was 4,531.164.

Step 3: Besides the Steem balance, I clicked on the drop down menu and clicked on power up.

Step 4: On the power up menu, I fixed in the value of Steem (176.567) I want to power up, the clicked on power up and then confirmed the transaction by clicking okay and that is it.

Step 5: As required, below is a screenshot of my Steem balance (4,707.731) after my power up.

Now, I can vote with more weight, influence the content that gets seen, and even earn more rewards.
