Post mentoring training for CHIPS programme.

Three months ago,I had opportunity to be trained as a CHIPS Agent. Remember CHIPS AGENT :The abbreviation means Community health Influencers promoters and services.

They are community-based workers who promote health awareness, provide basic health services, and connect community members to healthcare resource.

Last week, the below massage was sent to our mobile device, informing us that we will have another training.

Good morning, dear LGA teams of Ikono, Oruk Anam, and Ibesikpo.
Please note that Cluster 1 activities will be concluded today.As such, your cluster will be commencing tomorrow, 6th October, at the respective focal ward.
Please remind the CHIPS Personnel, Supervising CHEWS to be available for the activity.The state team will be at the Operational bases to pick you up by 9am to your assigned wards for the classroom work.Please notify the WFPs that the facilities will be used for classroom and review on day 1 and day 5, respectively, and they will also receive commodities for onward distribution to the CHIPS agents.

The training is called CHIPS programme post training mentoring. The training will last for five days which is from 6th to 10 October 2025. For the past three days, I have been receiving post mentoring training.

On Monday 6th, I arrival early at the venue. The programmes was start work of prayer by Dr Mrs Isang. Seconded by registration of all the CHIPS AGENT Personnel, Supervising CHEW and the Officers in charge and State team.

The third thing on our Agenda was reviewing of the map of our catchment area. Each individual draw the map of her community. We were reminder on what makes presentable map. It should have title, date, landmark, boundary and legends.

While we were on the maps drawing, the refresh our memories on what is a community is, how to carry out proper house numbering , Identifying the head of the households and other members of the family.

After a few minutes morning break, we were reminder that our main target is children under five years and pregnant women.These are the most vulnerable group, they immunity required most attention. We are also encourage to link the community to the health facilities.

In our Job Aid, we different decision tress, which makes it easier for us to talk to different members of the households. After all the reminders.

The facilitator share all commodities needed for CHIPs program including medicine box, respiratory timer, drugs, mid upper arm circumstances strip, malaria test kit, Apron, umbrella, and bag lot more. We joyful return home to kickstart the program on the next day.

At the end of day one. We were divide into groups and with our state team. We were also informed that from 7th to 9th Will be field work.

On Tuesday morning, we went to house,we carry house numbering, we registered people in our register and health educate pregnant, children and other family members. We also attend few illness found in individual house. Much people appreciated our efforts helping us to work excellent.
