The Diary Game: || 09-05-2025|| A Rewarding Day
Friday, May 9th, began to paint the sky when I woke up around 5:45 am. Stepping out of bed, the quiet of the early morning enveloped me. I took a few moments to offer a prayer of gratitude, an acknowledgment of the blessings in the life of my family.
With a sense of purpose, I moved into my small workout space. In my normal routine of 80 push-ups and 100 sit-ups, a way to energize my body and clear my mind before the day truly began. Afterward, I quenched my thirst with a refreshing cup of water, allowing myself a brief 15-minute respite before the demands of the morning pulled me in.
The bathroom became a hub of activity as I helped my children brush their teeth, their sleepy smiles a heartwarming start to the day.
Then came our baths, a flurry of splashing and laughter that chased away any lingering drowsiness. Soon, the breakfast was ready, and we gathered around the table, sharing a simple meal and our plans for the day.
The school run was next. I left house with the kids, their chatter filling the tricycle I ordered, and dropped them off at the school gates.
From there, I continued my journey to the office. Knowing it was Friday, I was determined to tackle the week's remaining tasks and clear my desk, aiming for a less cluttered start to the weekend. The hours passed in a steady incoming mails, meetings, and focused work.
At 5:00 pm, the satisfaction of a productive day settled over me as I headed back home. The comfort of my house welcomed me. After a quick shower to freshen up, I found my wife in the kitchen, already preparing a delicious pot of soup. Eager to lend a hand, I joined her. The rhythmic thud of the pestle against the mortar filled the air as I pounded the afang leaves, releasing their earthy fragrance.
I then moved on to the water leaves, slicing them into delicate strips, our teamwork a soft harmony.
As the evening deepened, we shared a satisfying dinner, the flavors of the homemade soup a comforting end to the day's activities.
Afterward, I sat with my children, helping them with their schoolwork, guiding them through their lessons. Finally, with the house silent and the day's tasks complete, a gentle weariness washed over me, and I drifted off to sleep, looking forward to the promise of the weekend.
Thanks so much for reading through my post.
