The Diary Game 3: Sunday April 13th, 2025. Palm Sunday
Like every Sunday, my day began with church. I cherished every Sundays especially for the spiritual grounding it makes in my life. Today felt different though, I guess because it was palm Sunday.
I got up from bed this morning and after i was done with my usual morning routine and house chores, i later had my bath and dress neatly in my jacket and navy-blue jean trouser. I later on polished my saxophone, and went to a church around my neighborhood. Well, this is not were i usually fellowship, I just decided to pay a visit. The church was alive with smiling faces, children in their Sunday best, and voices raised in harmony but i was not comfortable with the music or sound i was hearing from the instrumentalist....
I later decided to go help the instrumentalist to better the sound through out the service but to no avail. I took the bass guitar to assist but the person playing the keyboard was still unable to follow even the tempo of a song given. I finally told him to better stop playing the keyboard than playing off tempo and off key. I wished I knew how to play the keyboard well, but i guess that was a call for concern.
Later by 11am, church service was still going on but I had other commitments. Before this day, i was booked for 3 different birthday surprise party with the first one starting at 11:30am. A friend had called a week ago with a special request to play a surprise set for his daughter’s birthday. She was turning 15, a budding music lover, so i called one of my friend who plays the trumpet to accompany me.
When we were done, he gave us food to eat which of course i was very hungry as i left the house without eating. We couldn't stay long there as i had other birthdays to cover. Since i started with my friend playing the trumpet, i decided to go with him for the rest of the birthday surprise even though i was invited alone.
By 4pm, we were done playing all the birthday surprises. We finally decided to end our day by attending a mega gospel concert that was holding in town, title "Concert of Hope". Many Artist/music groups around the city and country were invited to perform here. Even though i went late, i was amazed by the remaining performance and only wished i started the program.
The hall was well decorated, the sound was top notch, the lighting system was amazing.
Just for the fact that i started the program late, i decided to stay upto the last minutes of the program. I left the hall by 7pm and went back home as i called it a day.
Thank you for going through my diary.
