My Diary Game: SCHOOL RESUMPTION - 29th_05_ 25

Hey everyone, good evening! I hope you all had a great day. It’s nice to be back here after what feels like a long break. I think it’s been around two weeks since I last posted. Nothing serious kept me away—just laziness and a lot of procrastination. But I’ve finally broken out of it, and I’m glad I’m here now. Even though I wasn’t posting, I’ve been coming around to read other people’s stories. I just didn’t know how to put mine into words until now.

So today started really early for me. I woke up by 5:20am. Yeah, I know that’s a bit of a shock because I don’t usually wake up that early. But today was different. I had plans of going back to school after spending an extra week at home. My holiday was already a month long, so adding another week made it even longer. I didn’t want to go back to school feeling tired or lazy, so I decided to go jogging.

After waking up, I got dressed, took my phone and headset, and left the house by 5:35am. I jogged for a while to clear my head and get some energy flowing. Then by around 6:30am, I reached the gym and did some light exercises—stretching, push-ups, lifting small weights, and just getting my body moving a bit. I didn’t do too much since it was still early and not very bright outside.

I got back home around 9:45am. First thing I did was drink water because I was really thirsty, then I showered and relaxed a bit. I didn’t sleep, though. I just lay down and watched some of the YouTube videos I had downloaded earlier.

After that, I stood up to get a few chores done around the house, then I made breakfast. I cooked jollof rice and enjoyed it with a chilled drink.

Once I was done eating, I went to the sitting room to continue the series I’ve been watching—“Suits.” It’s about a very sharp guy named Mike who gets hired as a lawyer even though he never went to law school. The show is filled with smart moves, law-related drama, and really interesting characters like Harvey Specter and Donna. I’ve been trying to complete the series before resuming school, and it’s been really enjoyable so far.

Since my parents weren’t around, I moved some of my things into the sitting room and started folding my clothes and arranging them into bags. You know how it is when school is about to resume, especially hostel life. I had to make sure I packed all the important stuff—clothes, toiletries, bedspread, towel, my bucket, foodstuffs like garri, rice, noodles, and definitely and my charger. Also, I packed my books and writing materials, because it’s back to serious academic life now.

While I was still packing, my dad came back. I went to his room to remind him that I’d be leaving for school today. Of course, he already knew, but it’s tradition to go and tell him again before leaving. What I thought would be a short talk turned into a long session of advice, prayers, and pep talks. I’m sure a lot of you can relate. It was a long one, but I appreciated it all the same.

After leaving his room, I went to the kitchen to warm some soup. I knew this was probably going to be the last homemade soup I’d eat for a while, and that made it special. I hardly cook soup in school, and the ones sold in restaurants just don’t taste the same. I took my time with that soup, savoring every bit of it.

By the time I finished packing everything and was fully ready,

I left the house at about 4:10pm. The journey back to school took a little over two hours. I arrived in school and the joy of seeing some of my friends who had resumed earlier was really nice. Some of them are Chelsea fans, and they didn’t even wait before they started laughing and throwing banter about football.

Speaking of football, yesterday was the Conference League final between Real Betis and Chelsea which won 4 goals to 1.

I don’t want to lie, I didn’t want them winning especially because my team, Manchester United, lost their Europa League final not last week. That loss was hard to take and might have played a part in why I haven’t been feeling the vibe to post anything for a while. Still, I wish the team well next season. Hopefully we come back stronger and better.

So that was how my day went. It was full but satisfying, and I’m just glad I was able to write about it today. I hope you all had a great day too. Wishing everyone a peaceful night and a wonderful new week ahead. Goodnight!
