Washing my clothes and that of my little boy, Princewill [Sunday 18th May, 2025]

in Steem Cameroonlast month

It was a sunny Saturday morning, and I was looking forward to tackling my laundry and cleaning chores as I usually did. But as I sat at my desk, surrounded by papers and textbooks, I realized that, that Saturday was going to be different.

As a committed teacher, I had a lot on my plate. I needed to complete my lesson notes and plans for this term, and I was running out of time. I got to work, writing and scribbling notes in my planner. Meanwhile, I still needed to stock my refrigerator with different dishes I needed to cook for the week that same day. I had decided to cook a few meals in advance to save time during the week. My refrigerator was stocked with containers of jollof rice, stew, and soups.

As the day went on, I realized that I wouldn't be able to fit in my laundry and cleaning chores as I had planned. I decided to shift my household chores to Sunday, hoping that I would have more time to get everything done.

Sunday morning arrived, and I woke up feeling refreshed and ready to tackle my laundry and cleaning chores. I started by sorting the clothes, separating mine from my little boy Princewill's. His tiny shirts and shorts always made me smile, reminding me of his energetic and playful personality.

As I began to wash and rinse the clothes, Princewill wandered into the room, curious about what I was doing. "Mummy, can I help?" he asked, looking up at me with big, eager eyes. I smiled and told him to keep growing, knowing that as he will clock 3 years next month, I will teach him how to wash his clothes. As I hung the clothes out to dry, Princewill insisted on helping me peg up his favorite shirt. "Mummy, I want to do it!" he exclaimed, trying to imitate me.

I watched as he struggled to peg up the shirt, his little face scrunched up in concentration. Finally, with a bit of guidance from me, he managed to get the shirt securely pegged up.

As we finished up our laundry chores, I felt a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment. It might not have been my usual Saturday routine, but spending the day with Princewill, doing household chores together, had been a lovely way to spend our Sunday.

Thank you for reading my post, I appreciate your time.
