Traveling to the village with my boy.
Yesterday Friday, June 6th, was a public holiday, and with no school, I decided to take my energetic 2-and-a-half-year-old son, Princewill, on a trip to the village. For weeks, he had been begging to see his grandma and Aunt Emediong, my younger sister. I couldn't resist his charming pleas anymore.

However, our trip wasn't solely for pleasure. As a resident of Uyo, garri, a staple food in our household, had became increasingly expensive. With our village boasting an abundance of cassava plantations, I saw this as the perfect opportunity to process some garri and bring it back home. This would surely last us until the second-term holidays.
With Princewill by my side, we embarked on our journey. The trip was smooth and safe, and my little boy's excitement was contagious. He chattered non-stop about all the fun things he would do in the village, from playing with his grandma to running around with his aunt.

As we arrived in the village, the warm sunshine and lush greenery enveloped us, and Princewill's eyes widened with wonder. I smiled, knowing that this trip would not only provide us with a stash of garri but also create lifelong memories for my young son.

We didn't see my mom, it was only Aunty Emediong, my younger sister that was at home, she gave us a warm welcome. Princewill was happy to see her Aunt but at the same time worried looking for her grandmother, according to Emediong, mom went to the market. We entered inside and changed our clothes, then took our bath before we took a picture with Aunty Emediong and rested as we were a bid tired.
