Cooking emergency soup, Calabar native soup

in Steem Cameroon6 days ago

As I walked through the school gates, exhausted from a long day of teaching, I had every intention of whipping up a delicious plate of fried rice. It was a dish I had been craving all day, and I had even made a mental note of the ingredients I needed to pick up on my way home.

But, as I settled into my routine, I realized that my plans were quickly unraveling. The workload was piling up, and the tasks of preparing lesson notes and plans were staring me straight in the face. As a dedicated teacher, I knew I couldn't afford to slack off, especially not when my pupils looked up to me with such admiration.

Something had to give, and that something was my fried rice. I just didn't have the time or energy to devote to cooking such a time-demanding dish. So, I made a split-second decision to switch gears and cook something quicker and easier - a native soup that would hit the spot and give me the sustenance I needed to power through my school work.

I hastily made my way to the nearby market to pick up the necessary ingredients: palm oil, achi, fish, canda, periwinkle, maggi, onions, and a few other essentials.

As I cooked, the aroma of the soup wafted through the air, tantalizing my taste buds and giving me the motivation I needed to push through my tasks. Before I knew it, the soup was ready, and I sat down to enjoy a steaming hot bowl.

The flavors danced on my tongue, and I felt a sense of satisfaction wash over me. It wasn't the fried rice I had originally planned, but it was something even better - a nourishing, comforting bowl of goodness that gave me the energy to tackle my school work with renewed vigor.

With my hunger sated, I dove headfirst into my lesson plans and notes, feeling focused and refreshed. The tasks that had seemed so daunting just hours before now seemed manageable, and I worked with renewed efficiency, fueled by the nourishment of my emergency soup.

As I drifted off to sleep that night, I felt a sense of accomplishment wash over me. I had risen to the challenge, adapted to the circumstances, and come out on top. And as I drifted off to sleep, I couldn't help but smile, knowing that my emergency soup had been the key to unlocking a successful day.
