Chapter 1: Shattered by Setbacks

Being a successful undergraduate Dami should have been so happy on returning from NYSC( national youth service corp) Nigeria but instead he came back without the undergraduate vibes, not even depicting one who just finished serving his country for one year, bothered about the fact he was not opportuned to be among those other set of corper who collect the 77k proposed by the government and now he back from camp.

The struggle was a giving up one but he managed to pass through the four walls of the university, his intention was coming out with a first class, become a lecturer just to uplift his family and eventually he made did, i mean a first class but something happen the system changed, corruption hit the system like the bomb osama ben laden dropped on the world trade tower, he had also thought of being adopted forcefully due to his IQ level but the reverse was the case, there was no vacancy.

Evil thoughts flooded his mind at this point he can't return home brought broke, shattered and battered until his friends who were never in school will hold fast the affirmation, school na scam. While in camp he has seen it all, thing were tough, and who knew if it would have been so if the minimum wage of N77k announced to be paid to corpers by the sitting president was imposed immediately. Not quite sure, because while in camp and reflecting to his poor background that has thought him to be very economically he still spent more than his salary, pilled up of debt never allowed him use his normal route to the school of his temporary assignment. At this point Dami made up his mind to do whatever will provide him an earn meet even fraud. For 7 months now he couldn't even attain a religious gathering because he works all day to send money to his parents in the village, one reason why he was sent to school, so nobody was there to preach him out of this perception.

While surfing the internet, Dami found an advert of a financial inclined Facebook group with the inscription, Get Rich Quick With Just N30,000, he had been exposed to scams often time but didn't key in but this time he remembered the inscription he found on a book, if you don't risk, you risk even more and then as a very calculative individual he soliquised, what if I ignore this info and it turned out to be real, I will end up been broke my entire life, what if it was a scam and then i loss this money to someone i dont even know, i will starve the whole month. Atleast this last week he manage to send N10k to his parent so he his sure they won't request for another.

While comtemplating on the choice to make, a call enter his phone, it was mum, he hesitated to pick knowing it's monetary since its weekend, he picked up the phone, and managed to click the receive button, and then mum told him, his dad was sick and needed 30k for treatment, he ended the called with anger, dami had 60k in his account, he planned to risk 30 and keep 30 for survival and now he is risking all, all the money, he couldn't think straight this time, if being the first born was such a responsibility he could resign then he would sign them for lifetime, in this fate Dami had to make a costly decision.

He sent the money, screenshoted the info on the group, fell on his bed and started crying, tear only came out from his eyes the last time he slice onions, there no onion this time, and it dawn on him that being a man was so demanding, then he slept off.
