The Diary Game (20/07/2025) Going To Work Even On A Sunday
Good afternoon, dear Steemian friends from across the globe. It's a beautiful day here, a welcome change from yesterday's rain that lasted from morning till night. I'm grateful the sun is shining, even if it's just a little. I'd love to share with you how I spent my Sunday, so please stay with me until the end, Thank you.
I woke up, began my morning routine, and attended to my personal hygiene. Afterwards, I prepared my meal, packed it up, and headed out to work.
As I was on my way, I ran into a friend who was heading to church. When he saw me, he asked why I wasn't joining him for the service. I explained that I had to go to work, which surprised him. He said I shouldn't miss church because of my job. I took the time to explain the nature of my work, so he could understand my situation and not jump to conclusions.

After our brief conversation, I bid my friend farewell and continued on my way to work, hurrying to avoid being late. A few minutes later, I arrived safely at my workplace. I met up with my colleagues, quickly changed into my uniform, and began my duties.
Fortunately, the work wasn't too stressful since it was a Sunday. With fewer workers and laborers on duty, the workload was manageable, and I didn't find the job too hectic that Sunday. Although I got some rest, it wasn't the most comfortable one, as I started feeling feverish at some point due to the cold breeze blowing directly towards my workstation.

I decided to take a short break and lay down on one of the wooden benches at my duty post, where I napped for a few minutes. When I woke up, it was almost 12 noon. As the workers began to pack up and head home. Since Sunday work typically ends at 12 noon for a half-day, I knew my own shift was far from over. As a security guard, I'm required to stay on duty until 6 pm.
As the workers and laborers were leaving, our security team began their standard search procedure, screening everyone before they exited the premises through the gate.

The search process took around 30 minutes, which wasn't too long since there were relatively few workers to screen.
Once all the workers had exited the premises, the guards locked the gate, leaving only the Mobile Police (Mopol) officers and the security guards, including myself, inside the site.
With everyone gone, I decided to take out my lunch and start eating. One of my colleagues joined me, and he even ran outside to buy some fufu to go with the soup I had brought. After we finished eating, I looked for a quiet spot to take a rest.
I slept for over an hour before being jolted awake by the cold breeze, which was blowing fiercely and taking a toll on my health. The fever had intensified, and I couldn't bear it anymore. Shivering uncontrollably, I requested permission from my supervisor to head back home, which was thankfully granted.

She granted me permission to leave, and I walked slowly back to my house to rest. Before lying down, I took some paracetamol to help with my fever. After that, I slept soundly until the next day without any interruptions. Thank you all for staying with me until the very end of my story.
