Golden Beetle - Macro Photography

A couple of days ago while helping a friend to harvest his maize crops, I stumbled upon this insect. It was perching on one of those maize stems and looked to have lost its way. It was scrambling and walking about probably looking for another stem to perch on.

I love its brownish and golden. It is a kind of rare beetle which I am coming across for the first time. Do you have any idea what class or specie of beetle is this?
