THE PRICE OF FREEDOM – RESPONSIBILITY

I decided to stop asking my parents for money not because I had more than enough but because I understood that there was nothing more to spare for me and I also understood what RESPONSIBILITY is all about.

One time I asked my dad for 30,000 naira and my dad was looking for where to borrow the money from. I didn't like his voice over the phone. That was me asking him for money after I haven't asked for five years. He felt bad that he couldn't help, I knew. It made me understand what I've been doing all this while too.

My family, especially my parents, have all given me respect and freedom because they know I am responsible and I can be held accountable for my actions.

I can go anywhere after telling my parents about it and they'll trust me on handling things well.

I can travel anywhere too after seeking their blessings and they'll trust me to take care of things well.

It's that simple, honey. You get all the freedom when you are responsible. You get all the freedom when you have proven to be responsible and accountable for anything you do.

A lot of folks out there complain about them not having freedom from their parents. You know, they have to struggle to go to a party, go out or whatsoever and they wonder what the problem is. It's simple: THE PRICE OF FREEDOM IS RESPONSIBILITY.

You can't even buy yourself food without calling your parents to ask for money, so when you go out there and you cause trouble, who do you call? Your parents!

So, to avoid more troubles, they deprive you of freedom.

But when you prove to them that you are capable of taking care of things, especially the little ones, you'll be respected and given freedom.

So, it's left for you to think about what you want to do with your life. You can either stay responsible and free or irresponsible and in bondages.
