Hello, great Steemians, I am @freshgrace, greeting you from Uyo. Let me take us through my diary game today.

MORNING TIME

I woke up very tired today. After morning prayer, I retired to bed. I was working on my phone for our church programme. At about 10am my wife came back from the market with big money in a small bag. That is how today's economy is; ten thousand naira (N10,000), is now equivalent to two thousand naira when you go to market to buy. She came back complaining about how things in the market kept rising. What this time needs is management of resources, especially groceries.

AFTERNOON RECORD

While I was working on my phone, I received an email confirming my participation in the Ibom Ignite Conference 2025 held from 3rd to 4th October. The email directed participants to go to Ibom-LED Centre at IBB off Aka Road and pick up a delegate badge for the event.
I decided to use the Four Lanes route. I realized that if you are residing along Nwaniba Road and its environs, using Four Lanes is much easier than going through Ibom plaza.
I am anticipating much about the event, this will be my first experience, organized by the Governor of Akwa Ibom State.

EVENING

When I came back from IBOM-LED Centre, I tuned to TVC channel and got interest with the conversations about Nigeria at 65 with Prof. Patrick Lumumba as the speaker. I missed his presentation, but still found significant points during the interactive session. It was an Independence Lecture and Award Night hosted by Island Club in Lagos Island.
For Lumumba, “Africans must rethink governance, not using the formula our colonial left us with”.

Different people spoke in that meeting calling for Africa to exist with one purpose and discontinued from constantly disrespecting Nigeria (their big brother). If you bring Nigeria down, “Africa is down, Nigeria is down”.
In my own response, those who colonised Africa did not design Africa to succeed alone. For us to succeed, we must return to our custom, culture and tradition with a deep sense of communalism and the Ubuntu philosophy, “Africa living for Africa, and existing for each other”. I have been thinking about Africa adopting her continental currency and using it everywhere for trading, like Europe has the euro and so on.
At exactly 8pm, I watched the Europa League as Midtjylland won against Nottingham Forest. I had my dinner, and I joined online prayers before going to bed.

SUMMARY OF THE DAY

I was at home in the morning hours; in the afternoon I went to the Ibom-LEDD Centre for the collection of my delegate badge for the Ibom Ignite Conference 2025, coming in the evening. I listened to Independence Day conversations with Prof. Patrick Lumumba, and from there I assisted in cooking, watched the Europa League, and slept after dinner and online prayers.

LESSONS OF THE DAY

  1. Africa is using the colonial master's formula for her governance; we must rethink Africa if we must progress.
  2. The fall of Nigeria is the fall of Africa.
  3. To succeed in this present economy, one must learn how to manage resources.
What is your opinion on the effects of colonialism?

Thank you for sharing in my day
