The power of contrast and accepting niight time
Greeting Steemit Family
After going through hours of daylight, darkness finally came. As I sat outside, I watched the light gradually fade away, giving way to the night. I kept watching and began to think deeply about life. The contrast in nature and everything around us. Everything seems to have an opposite, good and bad, happiness and sadness, light and darkness.
Then I asked myself, Why do opposites exist?
The truth is, we can not appreciate any of these sides if we only have one. It is the contrast that gives them value. That is why we cherish both good and bad moments, happiness and sadness, light and dark. You begin to understand that even the bad, the sad, and the dark come with their advantages. Like we often hear: "Failure is a step to success," or "Sad times help you release sorrow."
Nighttime is a moment of reset. The quietness and stillness give us space to reflect and think about our activities during the day. That is when we often find ourselves questioning our actions and thoughts. Sometimes, I even recall my words to see if I may have hurt someone. Like I always say: a day gone is gone, and you can not get it back to correct anything.
But the night is the time to rest, recharge, and renew your strength. As I mentioned earlier, sadness allows us to release pain, and that process deepens our joy. You only have a good night’s rest after a tiring day. That is why we say you rest after you are tired. Night gives us a moment of vision, a time to be grateful for the day we just lived.
It is only through contrast that we find balance. Balance in our emotions and life as a whole. Just as we can not be happy all the time, we also can not live in constant daylight. There is always a need for contrast because each side has a purpose in our lives. In the same way, we feel excited to jump out of bed in the morning. That is the same energy we should feel when going to bed at night.
Some contrasts are unavoidable; they are part of nature’s cycle. Just as the Earth moves around the sun, we continue to experience day and night. That is not stopping anytime soon, unless the Earth suddenly turns flat, which is not happening. So when we enter the dark phases of life, we should see them as opportunities to learn patience. Accepting hard times can actually renew our strength. Just like the joy of waking up after a long, restful night.
That kind of joy only comes when you have accepted the night. When your body, emotions, and even your mind are in balance. As I said earlier, we need to be patient and see darkness as a time for healing and restoration.
So let’s keep this in mind: contrast exists in every aspect of life, both in nature and in human development. Nature tells us clearly that everything has its time. We have seen this with the rise of civilizations, in innovation, and in personal growth. Nothing is permanent, not feelings, not seasons, not even the hardest moments of your life.
To conclude, you need the mindset to accept and embrace both the highs and the lows. Just like you calmly wait for night and take the courage to go to bed, you should approach every life moment with the same spirit. If you are afraid of sleeping because you think you might not wake up. That is the same fear that might keep you trapped in your sadness. But life goes on. So here is the take-home message: If I can walk into the night without fear, then I can overcome my darkest moments.
Cheers
