The Diary Game Season 3 [ Wednesday June 04th, 2025 ] Leaving a legacy from where you are
Greetings Steemit friends,
You can make history in many ways. Have you ever taken time to rethink what will be written about you when you are no longer part of the living? Your belief may place you in the position of either going to heaven or hell, depending on your faith. But whatever the case, everyone wants to be remembered for something.
Today marks the 100th game of German soccer captain Joshua Kimmich for his country. This is a great achievement in his football career and a proud moment as a national team representative. He is not the first to reach this milestone, others have gone beyond, like the legends Ronaldo, Messi, and many more who are still active on the pitch.
These are some of the things that will put your name in the record books. But we do not need to be global stars to have records. We can make our impact in smaller ways, in ways that touch lives. Just a small act of kindness, you never know how far it might go. Being consistent in what you are doing can make you the best at it.
We all can not be on the big stage, but we can still be impactful in our little corners. It took Joshua Kimmich 100 games to get here, which means he started from Game 1. He could have given up at some point, but he kept working hard and improving to earn his place in the national team.
The lesson? Every journey starts with the first step. How far you go depends on you. Now is the time to stay focused and consistent with whatever goal you want to achieve. I keep talking about consistency because that is the key to perfection. You can only be consistent when you are focused on one goal. The more you try to chase many goals at once, the higher your chance of missing them all.
How I spent my day. Right now, I’m practically just home. A call woke me up from a client, which led me to query one of my colleagues at the office. I had assigned him a task two weeks ago, and in my absence, I was hoping it was completed and going smoothly. After pleading with the client, I quickly completed the task myself and had my breakfast.
After that, I did some domestic chores, which took over three hours. I was tired, so I decided to rest on the couch and browse on my phone. I followed up on sports news, especially transfer updates. That is the most interesting topic now in football, as teams are selling and buying players in preparation for the next season.
While the transfer noise gets louder with teams spending big, I think it is not something to hype too much. Not every signing brings an instant impact. In some cases, it turns out to be a waste of resources, especially in the player’s first season. Some clubs are making smart buys as the transfer window remains open, while others are planning surprise moves by the end of the window. I did not even realize when I dozed off, only waking up when dinner was ready.
After dinner, I followed the build-up to the UEFA Nations League Final between Germany and Portugal. As a Germany fan, I was proud of Kimmich for hitting 100 games. The game began, and I was hoping for Germany to win. Statistically, Germany had not lost a match to Portugal in their Munich Arena in a long time. That gave me hope. And bang! Germany scored early in the second half.
But scoring Portugal seemed like a mistake. It woke the beast. Portugal made three substitutions that changed the game. They brought in fast players on the flanks, which led to their first goal. It was an amazing shot from outside the box. The second came from team play and was finished by Cristiano Ronaldo, who was chasing yet another record by scoring his 137th international goal and doing so as the oldest player on the pitch at 40.
At that point, I was watching the game as a neutral fan. After the match, I went straight to the bathroom, took my bath, and concluded my day by curating using the community account, dropped my post, and went to bed.
Cheers
