The Diary Game Season 3 [ Tuesday May 27th, 2025 ] A Busy Day: From School Runs to Web Projects

Sometimes I feel like how comfortably you live has a lot to do with your financial status. Everyone needs a certain level of financial stability to handle various life situations. While talking with a friend some weeks ago, she said, "Your problems seem to know when you have money on you." I laughed that day.

Well, that’s what many of us tend to think, but I believe we often over-expect when we have money. I always tell my kids, "When you have 100 dollars, you'll start thinking of how to solve problems that require 500 dollars." It's simple, humans naturally aim higher in life. There’s hardly a point where we feel satisfied, and this makes us constantly want more.

What we have is never enough, and we continue to work harder and harder to meet our expectations. One important lesson I’ve learned is, work hard enough to be able to handle your bills. This is very important.

Many people have lost a lot, and even their lives, simply because they could not afford to pay their bills. At some point, I had to admit that money can, in fact, save lives. That is one big lesson I have come to accept in the past few weeks.

A few weeks ago, my mom went in for surgery. It cost my family and me a huge fortune, and it made me truly see how money can solve serious problems. Ever since then, I have been working hard to sort everything out and pay back the places we had to borrow from. Let me go ahead to share about my day, which will be full of work, going to the bank, and picking up my son from school.

That day started as usual, I got up from bed and prepared myself and my son for school. He had to go in to wrap up some of their activities for their graduation the next day. We both had breakfast before leaving. I dropped him off at school and rushed to my place of work.

I recently started a new project. The client had confirmed the mock-up and requested some updates. I began by creating the necessary files and setting up the database so that the design work could properly begin. After pushing work to the GitHub repository, I had to go to the bank.

At the bank, I needed to do some transfers. It had taken me three weeks to reach this point because the account had been blocked. I had applied to have it reopened so that the funds could be released and I could pay back what I had borrowed weeks earlier.

After leaving the bank, I went straight to my son’s school to pick him up. I dropped him at home and rushed back to the office. I had to continue working on updates for a personal task. A web project a friend had asked me to help with. I completed the updates and then closed for the day.

When I got home, I was tired and hungry. Dinner took some time to be ready, and I ended up falling asleep on the couch. I eventually woke up, had dinner, and logged into Steemit. I completed my usual task of curating and selecting posts. After that, I went to bed and it took a while for me to fall asleep again.
