The Diary Game [24/04/2025] // A Rest Day at Home

Steem greetings from the motherland-Cameroon to @everyone and welcome to my blog for another diary session. It has been 3 days of stress for me due to my son's poor health condition and also that of my mother-in-law. Today, I decided to take it off from work and get a proper rest. I was already feeling like a sick person and needed enough rest.

Notwithstanding, I could not fully get rest as an Adrixan mother with kids. I needed to prepare food for them, at least. I got up from bed at 5:00 AM to prepare breakfast for the kids. While preparing the breakfast, my husband assisted by warming water and bathing them. He also had to dress them up and drop them off at school.

I cleaned the house and washed all the dirty dishes and pots. I decided to nap for some hours before getting up to prepare lunch before my kids returned from school. I used the fresh corn I prepared for the previous night to cook corn chaff. This is one of my favourite meals and I do not fail to prepare it when I have fresh corn.

When I was done preparing the meal, I took a cold shower because I was feeling heat. It's not been easy in my location with no rain for almost a week and we were already facing dust particles everywhere. I fed them and had a program with a store owner to pick up my baby’s body gel as the one I had finished and his skin is fragile and selective.

I left the house while my kids were busy watching cartoons after eating. I took a bike to avoid rush hour traffic. When I arrived the store, the storekeeper was there and he immediately gave me the body gel. I decided to buy a mini travelling luggage for myself. I also bought some jackets for my kids as this is the rainy season here and the coldest period of the year in the region.

I negotiated the prices and paid but unfortunately when I was about to leave the shop, it rained cats and dogs. I sat there for almost an hour before the rain stopped and I left his shop to take a bike back home. While on the road, I realised the streets were almost empty unlike rush hour period on this street. I decided to walk to a nearby bakery to buy some French bread and chocolate.

I entered the bakery and was lucky there was no queue to follow as I was the only person to buy bread. I gave my order and paid for it. My bread was packaged and handed to me.

I left the bakery and went to the next shop to buy chocolate for my kids. They love eating French bread with chocolate and drinking tea. The prices in this store were exorbitant and I decided to check in another local store in my neighbourhood.

I returned home feeling fulfilled after I got the baby's body gel because yesterday I used bathing soap and he got an allergy. Unfortunately, I arrived home and noticed serious low-voltage electricity in my neighbourhood. No electricity equipment was on. It affected my internet signals and could not even power the modem. My fridge was off and every other equipment was not able to power on. I quickly fed the kids and went to bed early to get longer hours of night rest.
