The Diary Game [19/06/2025] // Work from Home
Steem greetings, guys, and welcome to my blog as I share another session of my daily lifestyle content. It is a good thing to work from home while managing your kids, but at the same time, it can be energy-draining and, most often, not effective because kids keep coming up with one complaint after another once they notice you are at their disposal.
This is the longest holiday season in my country, and all schools are on holiday. It is a challenging moment for us, especially mothers who often work from home. You find yourself becoming talkative, and it is draining you down. I had to, at one point, decide not to say any word but just observe from afar. But you know what, it seems abortive because they keep bringing up one issue to call your attention.

At one point, I had to lock myself in my bedroom to concentrate and work. My toddler son kept coming to the door and knocking several times until I had to open the door. After several hours of coping with the noise, I decided to give up and work later in the day, and most often I do the work at night when they are sleeping.
I went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast, as during holidays they go to bed late and wake up late. I heated water, made them tea and some hot chocolate because it was cold weather that day. I had to feed them as usual to ensure they ate properly. Then they engaged in watching cartoons while I continued with my work online.
I continued working till late afternoon when we experienced unannounced blackouts. I decided to engage in cooking lunch for the family. I had some cocoyams that were also getting bad. The temperature here is high, and most tubers' food stuff does not last for long. I took the remaining cocoyams to prepare one of our traditional delicacies known as ekwang. It is time-consuming to prepare this meal, but I did not waste much time as I cooked a smaller quantity for three people. While waiting for electricity to be reinstated, I cooked the meal and served myself some to eat along with my kids.
After eating my lunch, electricity was not yet reinstated, so I went on a walk along the street without my phone to capture the moment, as my phone battery was dead. While walking along the street, I noticed electricity was restored, and I immediately returned home to continue working. Then I took some fresh bananas from the fridge and some chocolate to distract myself a bit while chewing.

I continued working till the late evening when I heated water to bathe my kids, as the weather was cold. I equally took a warm bath, and it was all refreshing as I continued to work on my laptop. I checked my emails and responded to the most important emails.

The rest of the evening was spent watching some Netflix series and movies with my friend, with whom I had a series of chit-chats. My sister inlaw came in later to join in the discussions. I concluded the evening hours by continuing with a series I had started some days back, titled "The Lincoln Lawyer".

After watching the series, I decided to call it a day while dropping my diary of the day. Until my next session of my lifestyle content, it is goodnight from my end.
