The Diary Game [13/07/2025] // The Unusual Day

Steem greetings, guys from the motherland, Cameroon and welcome to my blog as I share my daily lifestyle with you all. It was Sunday and a day for worship for us Christians, but I had a bad night, which made me cancel plans to go to church. My heart was troubled, and I felt it was best for me to stay back home and reflect on a lot of personal things.

As if the night was not bad enough, I got the news from one of my work WhatsApp groups were our boss dropped a message from our president declaring his intention to run for the position of president of the country upcoming presidential elections in October 2025. Like seriously!!!!, my entire day was spoiled hearing him saying he is answering the call from all over the 10 regions of the country, asking him to stand again as a candidate. What a shame that we have been under this same regime for only God knows with all the conflicts the country is currently undergoing due to bad governance, corruption, embezzlement of state funds, he still had the mind to stand again as president. He has become a natural candidate, and only death will remove him from that seat, from the look of things.

I was annoyed and decided to take a walk around the neighbourhood, and it seemed it was instead the wrong decision, as everyone was talking about the political situation in my country. What can we do except pray for God to intervene for His people? I returned home and decided to harvest some lemons to prepare my concoction, as I was sneezing, and I wanted to take it to prevent me from catching a cold.

I drank the concoction and felt relief, and I had to take a warm bath because the temperature these days is cold. I had a nap for about 2 hours, and when I woke up, my kids were hungry and I had to prepare them lunch. When I was done feeding them, I went outdoors again, but this time around to harvest guavas. I thought they were good guavas to eat, unfortunately, it was not the good species. No doubt it was ripe, and no one was harvesting them. I only noticed after harvesting that it was sour and not the sweet species of guavas.

I learned a lesson from the sour guavas from my neighbour, who told me that it is the best for pregnant women who have lost their appetite. It helps them to eat well. But from my own experience, I never craved sour guavas, and I didn’t experience what she was explaining. The conversation prolonged into soccer as the husband joined in as a soccer lover; he overpraised PSG based on their last game with PSG. To him, the finals of the FIFA Club World Cup will favour PSG, and I told him, Chelsea is gonna surprise them. After the discussion, I went back indoors to rest while waiting for the match to start.

It was the long-awaited moment for the match to begin, with each team’s momentum high. The fans of both teams had confidence in their players, and both believed in triumph. I was supporting Chelsea and I believed they gonna surprise PSG. The tempo of the game was high, and I love the way Chelsea handled the tempo of the game within the first 22 minutes. They played with a calm mind, and by the end of the first half of the game, Chelsea was leading.

The second half of the game was good, though PSG at one point got frustrated having conceded 3 goals and were unable to score even a single goal. The frustration pushed the PSG player to pull Cucurella’s hair from behind, which earned him a red card for bad conduct.

Chelsea, as I had earlier predicted, surprised PSG and triumphed with a 3:0 victory to earn the title of FIFA Club World Cup 2025.

It was celebration time for Chelsea fans and a sad evening for PSG fans, but what makes soccer fascinating is the fact that despite failures, soccer has a way of uniting us. PSG players still had to hug the Chelsea players, and that was what mattered to me. It teaches us unity in diversity.

After the game, I had to call it a day as I went to bed, hoping for a better tomorrow. Until my next diary, guys, I wish you all a fruitful work week ahead.
