The Diary Game [13/04/2025] // Palm Sunday
Steem greetings from the motherland-Cameroon to @everyone and welcome for another edition of my lifestyle content. It was Palm Sunday for us Christians which means the beginning of the holy week and marks the triumphant entry of Jesus to Jerusalem.
Early in the morning, one could see Christians matching with palm branches singing “…hosana in the highest”. This symbolizes victory and the joy could be seen on their faces waving their palm branches.

I had no plans of going to church today because of other commitments that made it impossible for me to meet up with church service time. Most often I follow church services online but today I was unable to follow services online.
I needed to get enough rest for myself and for that reason, I woke up late from bed and still had to prepare breakfast for my kids. I fried some ripe plantains and eggs for their breakfast.
After feeding them, we bathed and napped for almost 3 hours. I had to rush to a local market to buy some food items. I decided to take a walk since it was not far from my house but had to take a bike when returning home.

The streets were almost empty, unlike Palm Sunday. I was a bit worried about the empty streets then I realized that it was due to the high level of insecurity in town now that people are sceptical about being in crowded areas.
I walked faster to the market and stopped by a vendor shop to buy beans and peels to prepare coki within the week. This is one of the local meals my kids loved eating often.

I noticed that even in the market, it was scanty as compared to when the town was stable. I had to quickly pick up Huckleberry, fresh tomatoes, and garlic and while returning home, I saw some fresh mangoes and I could not resist so I stopped and bought some of the mangoes. The price was shocking but I had to pay it silently.

Returning home on a bike and the bike man mistake about my destination and I had to remind him twice. Shockingly, he narrated his ordeal to me as one of his brothers was shot dead the previous day riding a bike. He said the incident is still disturbing his mental health and he is sometimes forgetful. This reminded me of the previous day with several dead bodies found in the streets. This is traumatizing and the worst of it all is that no counselling is being offered to help people to heal. We had to deal with it and find ways to cope with the trauma.
While at home, I had to watch the soccer game between Manchester United and Newcastle. In the last game of Manchester United, our national team's goalkeeper was and is often blamed for poor performance and I believe that football is a collective game and not an individual game. But the bashing on Onana is something else and I think it has a negative impact on the keeper’s mental health.
We were so happy today that he was not included in the game and we were patiently watching to see Man United do their best without Onana since he is the cause of their failure as claimed by their fans. Surprisingly, they were defeated with a humiliating 4:1.

It was a boring game and I had to go to the kitchen to prepare our dinner. I prepared huckleberry and also cooked fufu corn. I had to cook all at once to serve time. I served the meal and had to feed my kids.

After eating, I had some time with the kids and also continued with a Netflix series “Baby Farm”. I watched episodes 1-4 and called it a day. Until my next diary, it is goodnight from my end to yours.
