Ibom Hotel & Golf Resort, Akwa Ibom, Nigeria

Ibom icon Hotel & Golf Resort is one of the most expensive and exclusive hotels in my City. Last month, I did a review of the Hotel. This particular place is their extension. This is where we have an extended resort with nature parks, beach side and a boat house which serve as reserves for tourists. It's located directly opposite the big beach in my state, Akwa Ibom State. Most times I wonder why the location isn't in a populous place to attract wealthy and influential people.

I later came to discover why this hotel & resort is located in this reserve place. Serenity and a noise free place is what many wants, free from air pollution from cars and other vehicles, free from water pollution and a place where meditation can be possible. I bet if you visit this hotel's extension, it would be as if you're in paradise already. You can have a beach view, sit on park benches and lawns and inhale fresh breath.

Let me take you from the gate. If you want to have a glimpse of the hotel's main building, this post has a review and everything you're looking for. Let's start with the entrance, but before doing so, I'll love to be specific with some details before giving detailed descriptions of the place, coupled with beautiful pictures.

Entrance

I can recall saying this is an extension of the hotel. You can either use the main hotel entrance to get here or you use this place called Marina close to Ikpa river to access the main hotel. This place is called Marina because it's a resort close to a beach or river. The entrance to the resort is guarded by a gate and some soldiers in the security post. Because of security reasons, I wasn't allowed to capture the security post but where we have the name of this hotel written boldly is where we have the security post.

The gate is made of metal and have a design more like that of a protector with spaces or gaps. You can see through the building but can't enter easily. **The gate is painted with Grey colour paint and the walls of the resort are filled with a special type of leaf which beautifies the environment, makes it unique and green. There's no gate fee attached as entry is free. You'll only be given a tally for your car if you bring one.

Parking Space

From the entrance by your right, you'll notice a parking space which vehicles are kept to avoid disorganisation or blocking of the walkway by tourists and the likes. You can see how visible the cars parked there are. Still on the right, there's a bridge view for the river where tourists stand to view the river and river men transporting passengers. I'm coming to that though.

Bar Spaces

From the entrance on your left, you'll see a storey-building covered in yellow paint. This place is called Akwa Ikpa where drinks are sold, snacks, pizzas, seafoods and meat. Let me take you in to show you some facilities inside the bar. From the entrance, there's a space for a receptionist who sits and receive guests entering the bar. Still in that same place house a storage for tennis balls, badminton tools, safety wears like helmet and the likes.

Visitors who would love to use the badminton pitch take tools from this storage and return them when they are done. Still on the receptionist place is seen a chess board, Ayo, Ludo and other types of physical games one can play while in the bar. The Air conditioner in this particular bar is giving. You can't perceive bad air even if your sweaty.

First Bar space: This is the first bar space on the ground floor that can accommodate just a few persons. There's a TV display which features football matches and movies to entertain guests. The main bar is this particular place where drinks and other foods are sold. There are three chillers by the sides with an extended room for preparing pizzas, sharwamas and other kind of foods and snakes other than drinks. The chairs used there are American designs and structures for bar.

Second Bar space: I've not been to the United States of America before but this second bar space took me there. This is Uyo Canada. America in Uyo I must say. Such a beautiful bar space to be placed here makes my City a beautiful one and one for tourist attraction. This second bar space can be accessed through the stairs links from the ground floor. It's quite spacious and can accommodate more than 50 people both in and outside as there's an extension. There's also a TV display there.

Third bar space: This is still on the top floor that can be accessed either from inside the bar or outside. It has a noise proof door from inside which leads guests to the space. Bartenders are very much active to serve you. There are about 6 bartenders. One thing in American type of bar is that you'll always see a snooker board and casino. You can't visit a bar without seeing these two games. I saw it here that's why I said this place is more American than Nigerian.

Prices of served items

I won't be detailed here as I wasn't allowed to snap their menu and you can't take it off the bartender desk except you purchase a drink. Drinks there are exorbitant in prices which makes it more like the 4-star hotel it is. It's luxury so you must purchase in a luxurious way.

The prices will remind you that you didn't just come to an ordinary bar but a luxurious one where you'll receive special treatment not given elsewhere. Moving on, there's a female and male locker not too close to each other but after the bar space on the ground floor.

Male Locker

This locker houses a changing room and a toilet for males. You know the resort has golf lawns, badminton pitch and other sports. Guests who wants to make use of these places change up here and probably after they are done, they clean themselves in the locker. There's a bathroom that can accommodate 2 people and there are two benches for those who wants to sit out of tiredness.

Partying hall, club house and games

This is a big space where guests enter to dance and party. There are no chairs there, just an open space with sufficient light during the day and party lights at night. Speakers are mounted in the evening hours of the day. Beside the partying hall is another hall for games with a roundtable. The games here include;

You can choose to play anyone you like as it's free for all guest who purchase drinks in the bar or guests who come out there mainly for sport. The lighting is sufficient enough to make you see what you're doing clearly. I'm done with the bar House. Let's move outside the bar. Outside the bar are spaces for recreation with an umbrella where guests who choose to stay outside are accommodated. You can purchase drinks and make use of the space outside with an umbrella as a shield against rain and sun.

Roundabout and Badminton pitch

This roundabout is clearly visible from the Bar house. It's a space with rock chairs where events can be held or meetings and social gatherings. You stay there to discuss things. Some people park their cars there for picnic purposes and the likes. Beside the roundabout is the badminton tennis pitch painted red and blue. It's very much enlarged and can accommodate 4 persons comfortably. There are spaces outside the pitch for guests to view. Sufficient light stands are placed for night purposes

Show room for Boat, River view and Park benches

This showroom has a big iron boat painted red. It's more like a reserve where tourists see as a monument or cultural heritage since the place is beside a big river body. There are park benches by the walkways which makes it possible for those walking long distances to relax under the shade which prevents sun rays from directly touching those seated no matter how harsh the sun may be or what turns it may take.

Forest paths and golf lawns

The Greenery in this place speaks a lot about comfortability and luxury. You can totally forget your problems by just sitting on the lawns during morning or evening hours. The walkways are so beautiful with big trees that may have existed for years. Tourists come here to do research, tour and experience nature. This is where nature can be experienced and felt. The trees, fruit trees, literally bins and the view can never be underestimated. It's just so powerful and green, signifying life and good health. The golf lawns are for people who wants to make use of it. It's actually located in various spaces with a sign board.

So I was done touring the place. If you follow the main forest paths, you'll definitely find your way to the main hotel though it's a 30 minutes trek if you're trekking. What's my review of this place of I'm to review? I don't know why the place is a 4-star hotel because just the nature parks and greenery of the place has given it a 5-star. Location inclusive. The location of the place is just so perfect for recreation and entertainment. Their services are luxurious services and quality food and drinks are served. You'll be tested the right way.

Recommending this place would definitely be my delight because there are people out there who wants private lives, who wants where they are finding therapy to their depression, who wants luxury and comfortability.
