The Diary Game -22-07-2025- Going To The Bank // Taking My Child To The Hospital And Home
For the past three days have been experiencing sleepless night due to my child health. It started as a mild fever which I administer paracetamol to him thinking that it's was just a fever maybe because of the weather but not knowing it beyond just a fever.
A night breaking today Tuesday, around pass 1.00am, I notice his body temperature was high while his feet were cold, I had to look for a way to calm down the body temperature as he couldn't sleep. I mob his body with cold water, expose him a bit to fan then give him PCM again.
In the morning, I got up early, preparing to take him to the hospital. When he was about taking breakfast, I notice he cannot eat his food so I had to check him which I realised his also having pains as the results of bacterial infection(tonsillitis) which make his mouth to smells too.
I then switch to make tea and bread for both of us. When I was done, we all dress and leave the house. On our way, I branch United Bank For Africa (UBA) to get some cash for our transport fare and bills.
Because of the child health which I explain to one of the teller personnel, I was giving a chance to make withdrawal, as such, we didn't take up to 30minute. We left and boarded a keke to the hospital at Mbiaobong. The clinic is a government place as such other patients were there including a set of University of Uyo (Uniuyo) student who came to carryout their practical.
I bought the hospital card and I was directed to different sections in the clinic.
After the child file was open, I was directed to a section were his body temperature will be check, his weight and test recommendation. It was properly done and we moved to the laboratory section were his blood sample was taken for diagnosis.
Laboratory section
When the test results came out, I was giving the file to take to the pharmacy section where the pharmacist, prescribe drugs which I will buy for the child. Drugs was prescribed and I got them all there in the pharmacy shop.
I left the hospital, branch the local market that is close and get some food stuff for the house. Coming back home, I made noodles for the child, give him the drugs as was directed before starting to prepare food for the family.
For the family lunch, I prepare our local meal, Afang soup which I didn't take much time since We're already late in taking Lunch, I try my very best to be fast and when I was done, the food was served and enjoy as well.
Then it's time to get some rest but before doing that, I decided to share with you my friends how my day was.
Thanks for reading through my diary...
I most considered that I feel your pains, because as a mother I know how it takes us to go around with baby doing one or two things before the day runs out.
It is not easy with us, imagine at the end of the if the child developed ill health due to stress,we will stay overnight only to look after the baby,it takes me to the song "Sweet Mother" if the child don't sleep, the mother will not sleep..
When a child is sick like this,it so disturbing because everything in you as a mother will change,no appetite to eat anything, only just to make sure the child feels okay.
God will show us mercy because the motherly suffering is much.
I pray the child for quick recovery.
