Morning Activities.

This day will always remain special to me because it was my very first time entering an airplane. For years, I had dreamed of flying. Each time I saw planes flying high in the sky, I would stop whatever I was doing, tilt my head upwards, and imagine myself sitting inside. I wondered how it would feel, whether my ears would block, whether I would be scared, or whether it would feel like magic. On the 18th of August, 2025, all those questions were finally answered.

My flight was scheduled for 9:30 AM from Uyo to Lagos. The night before, I barely slept because of the excitement. I kept checking my bag over and over again clothes folded neatly, toiletries packed, phone charged, and most importantly, my NIN card kept safely inside my purse. I even ironed my outfit the night before because I wanted to look fresh for my “first flight” moment.

By 8:00 AM, I was already at the airport. The environment looked modern and lively—people rolling trolleys, others rushing, announcements being made through the speakers, and security officers standing at different corners. For me, it was like stepping into another world.

I snap photo at the airport entrance. Excited and nervous at the same time my first time at the airport
When it was my turn, I rolled my bag to the check-in desk. The officials asked for my ID and my NIN. They weighed my luggage, checked through it carefully, and tagged it. I watched the bag disappear on the conveyor belt and felt a little nervous Will my bag meet me in Lagos?” I thought, but then I reassured myself with a smile.

Next was security. I placed my purse and phone in the tray, removed my shoes, and passed through the scanner. It beeped for the person in front of me, but when it was my turn, I passed without any alarm. A small victory!

Afterwards, I was given my boarding pass with my seat number. I held it tightly like it was a golden ticket. My heart was beating fast, and I couldn’t help but smile.
Finally got my seat number reality setting in
We waited at the boarding gate for a while. I looked around at other passengers some calm, some on phone calls, some busy scrolling through their phones like flying was nothing special. But for me, it was everything.

Finally, we were called to board. Walking down the tunnel toward the plane felt like walking into history. I stepped inside, greeted the air hostesses who smiled warmly, and found my seat by the window. I quickly placed my small bag in the overhead locker, sat down, and buckled seatbelts Settled in my seat by the window ready for take-off!”

When the plane engines started, the sound was powerful. My heart raced faster. The plane began to taxi slowly, then faster and faster, until suddenly it lifted. My stomach felt like it flipped, but in an instant, we were rising above the ground. I looked out of the window and saw houses, cars, and trees shrinking below me. I whispered softly to myself, “Wow… so this is how it feels to fly!”

The view was breathtaking. Clouds floated like cotton balls, and the sunlight reflected beautifully on them. I kept my eyes glued to the window, not wanting to miss a second.

The flight lasted less than an hour, but to me, it felt like a dream. I thought it would be scary, but instead it felt peaceful. The air hostesses moved around with calm smiles, checking on passengers, making sure everyone was fine.

By 10:20 AM, the captain announced our descent. My ears popped a little, but I was too happy to care. The plane touched down smoothly at the Lagos airport, and everyone clapped softly. I joined, smiling from ear to ear.

As we came down, there was a shuttle bus waiting to carry us to the arrival section. I sat quietly, still processing the experience. From the terminal, I ordered a Bolt to take me home.

By the time I got home, I was really tired. I dropped my bag, took a bath, and immediately fell asleep. My dream came true, and I couldn’t stop replaying the moment in my head.

afternoon Activities.

By 2 o’clock in the afternoon, I woke up feeling a little hungry. The excitement of flying had made me forget food earlier, but now my stomach was reminding me. Since I had just arrived, there wasn’t much food at home. I decided to head to the market.

The market was alive as usual. Traders shouted prices, customers bargained, children ran around, and the smell of pepper and fried snacks filled the air. I moved through the stalls, buying fresh tomatoes, onions, pepper, and some vegetables. My plan was to cook both stew and soup so that I would have enough food for the coming days.

Back home, I tied my wrapper and went straight into the kitchen. First, I blended the tomatoes, onions, and pepper for the stew. The sound of the blender was loud, but it brought me joy because it meant food was on the way. I fried the mix with oil, added spices, and the aroma quickly filled the whole house.

Stew in progress the smell alone can make you hungry

Next, I prepared the soup. This took more time, but I enjoyed it. I stirred carefully, added seasoning, and watched it thicken nicely. By the time both were ready, I was sweating but smiling.

I packed the stew into a small cooler and placed it in the fridge so it could last for the week. Then I dished some soup for myself and ate as my late lunch. The first taste was heavenly spicy, fresh, and just what I needed

After eating, I washed up the pots and plates, wiped down the counters, and then stretched out on my bed for a short rest.

evening Activities.

By evening, I decided to clean and arrange the house. Traveling always makes things messy, so I wanted everything neat before the new week started. I swept the floor, washed the dirty plates, and arranged my shoes neatly by the wall. I also gathered all the dirty clothes into one pile so I could wash them the next day.

After cleaning, I took my bath and felt refreshed. The water washed away my tiredness, and I was ready to enjoy the rest of the night.

My siblings were around, and we decided to hang out together. We agreed to go to the cinema. The atmosphere there was lively, filled with people buying tickets, popcorn, and drinks. We picked a movie, grabbed popcorn, and entered the hall.

Watching the movie on the big screen was fun. My siblings and I laughed, whispered small jokes to each other, and enjoyed the sound effects. It was the perfect way to end such a big day.

conclusion

Looking back, the 18th of August 2025 was truly unforgettable. My very first flight from Uyo to Lagos was smooth, exciting, and everything I had hoped for. From the boarding process to the view in the sky, it felt like stepping into a new world.

The afternoon reminded me that life continues as usual, with simple things like going to the market and cooking food. Those ordinary tasks brought me comfort after the extraordinary morning. The evening ended beautifully with cleaning, family time, and a cinema hangout.

I ended the day with gratitude. It was a perfect mix of new experiences, productivity, and happiness.
