Wasting Time on TikTok?
Greetings my dear friends of Steemit and Shine with Steem
What do you think about the use of TikTok? Do you think it has more educational value than it's given credit for, or do you think it's a waste of time? |

Why do humans procrastinate?
"Tomorrow I'll be doing what I was supposed to do 2 days ago."
"What goes on in the heads of procrastinators, why we are the way we are?"
Dr Piers Steel believes that procrastination isn't a problem which is seen exclusively in this era.
It has existed for ages. Thousands of years ago, in 1400 BC, Egyptian hieroglyphs have been found, that talk about it.
According to Dr Steel, in the last 42 years, there has been a 300% to 400% growth in chronic procrastination.
Today, half the population in the world, procrastinates. They procrastinate frequently.
But why do we do so?
We need to dig deeper. Think about the things you procrastinate doing. When you have to prepare for an exam or for a job interview, you procrastinate.
But have you ever procrastinated while scrolling on tikTok?
Nope.
We procrastinate if it is an office project. Or for exercising. Or if it is something emotional, we'll procrastinate.
"When I need to say something important when I have to keep a promise, when I have to reach out to someone, when I have to reconnect with someone, I am always late."
Doomscrolling is nothing but shire wast of time. So we should be deterministic and committed to your goal of life.
Have you ever found yourself in situations where others judge you for spending time on TikTok? How do you feel about it? |
---|
Actually this habit was picked up mainly at the time of Covid. People used to doomscrolling because of uncertainty and unpredictable situation of pandemic. Basically such short video particularly TikTok was banned in India since then. So I don't have much scope for the same. On the contrary I had a empathy for the compulsive viewers of such shorts.
How much time do you spend watching content on TikTok and what type of content do you like to watch? |
---|
We have shorts and reels on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram as I have mentioned TikTok is banned in India.
I spend quite a considerable amount of time on long video of youtube. I like watching videos of news and travel. I seldom watch shorts or reels on other social media.
What is the most interesting or educational content you've found on TikTok? |
---|
Yes, there are many interesting videos on health and food which are educative also.
Do you think TikTok content can be addictive? |
---|
It is very addictive because of our Never-ending stare. It's often characterized by a compulsive urge to keep scrolling, even when it causes anxiety or distress. It is also keep you escape from your genuine problem when it becomes difficult to face.
Do you enjoy creating content for TikTok and how do you support your fellow content creators on TikTok? |
---|
I have a youtube channel where I upload shorts as well as long videos. The main purpose to share it in my post on Steemit.
Thank you for reaching my post.
I would like to invite three fellow Steemians to participate in the contest.
